The hottest stage in i☆Ris history unfolded! Report on "i☆Ris 5th Anniversary Live ~Go

i☆Ris held their first solo live in a long time and their first 2-DAYS live "i☆Ris 5th Anniversary Live ~Go~" on November 6 and 7, 2017! They celebrated their 5th anniversary at Fuchu no Mori Art Theatre Dorium Hall.

Here is a report on the live performance that showed both the past and the future with different costumes, different set lists, and new songs from the album on both days.

The culmination of 5 years! i☆Ris running through with "Yabasai" setlist!

Silhouettes of 6 members appeared on the upper stage. It was easy to tell who was who just by their side-by-side silhouettes. The silhouettes of the six members showed their pride that they have been performing for five years since their debut without missing a single member.

The costumes were designed by Azuki Shibuya, a member of the group, with a motif of the Roman numeral "V (5)" and the initials of the members on the back, which was perfect for this memorable day. The energy of the six members was as strong as the excitement of the audience, and they continued to radiate their energy from the stage.

Yu Serizawa and Shibuya Shibuya, Hiika Akaneya and Yuki Wakai, and Saki Yamakita and Miyu Kubota came down the stairs two by two and continued with "§Rainbow" and "Make it! When I saw them sing these three powerful songs in succession, I felt their determination to "burn up today! I felt their determination to "burn up today!

Himika Akaneya

How are you all doing on your first 2-DAYS live? Today is my real debut day. At that time, I was dressed like an older sister at a cell phone company. I've been doing this for about 5 years, but I'm going to introduce myself ...... today with a fresh mind," Ms. Yamakita started her usual greeting in a cute voice. Serizawa continued with her typical comment, "I liked Seriko back then because she had a twangy personality, but I definitely like Seriko now. The six members also introduced themselves, saying how they had changed over the past five years. During the performance, Ms. Wakai warned the audience, "Today's setlist is very intense, so make sure you stay hydrated," and the truly "bad" setlist was to follow.

Saki Yamakita

The audience danced and sang along to four songs in a row: "Dream Parade," "Closer to the Sun," "Bright Fantasy," and "Re:Call." Loud applause and cheers were heard every time the intro music played and every time the formation changed. The six members were so sweaty that even the set of bangs that Miyu Kubota is so proud of was falling apart as they ran through the stage. Four years after their debut, the girls had already performed at the Nippon Budokan, and this live performance was perhaps a sign of their desire to surpass that stage. I was simply overwhelmed by the power of their performance.

Miyu Kubota

Up to this point, she had sung the title song of all the singles, but she had been working on "trust," the coupling song of "Ready Smile! The coupling songs of i☆Ris tend to have emo lyrics that overlap with the members' feelings, and this song also had many touching words.

The original version of "Ichizu," which was impressive at the Nippon Budokan concert, was also sung, as well as "Daily Berry! and "Ready Smile! and "Ready Smile! and "Ready Smile! The sight of the six members jumping up and down desperately, no matter how hard they had to work to keep up the quality of their singing and dancing, was heartwarming.

Yu Serizawa

In the frenzied "Pripara" zone (......), the audience was treated to a moving new song as an encore!

From the new album "WONDERFUL PALETTE" released on November 1, they performed a new song "WONDERFUL PALETTE", which is also the title track. i☆Ris is known for their "Pripara" tie-up songs, but this song had the atmosphere of the series of "Pripara" songs, and at the same time, the six members who have matured and grown up performed it. The audience was excited by the atmosphere of the series of songs, and then the theme songs of "Pripara" were performed in succession. The excitement of this block was tremendous as they continued with "Miracle☆Paradise," "Realize! The last song of "Goin'on" was "Deliver! Wish, echo! The message "So my dream will never end..." at the end of "Goin'on" was very fitting for the girls of today, and the way they put their feelings into the song was so strong that I could truly believe that their dream would continue.

Yuki Wakai

The last song of the show was "Genshokyoku WONDERLAND. The audience clapped so loudly that their hands might have swelled up. Ms. Kubota's ad-lib line at the end of the song was "How are you doing? Isn't it amazing that i☆Ris has grown so much? I thought these words came out only after five years, when I could be proud of myself and proud of my friends.

Azuki Shibuya

The encore started with "Fanfare". A cake appeared on stage to celebrate i☆Ris' 5th birthday and they announced that their 15th single would be the theme song for the 4th cool OP of the TV anime "Idol Time Prepara". The audience shouted "Thank you! The happy announcement continued: "i☆Ris 4th Live Tour 2018~WONDERFUL PALETTE~", a nationwide tour in spring 2018, will be held. This 5th anniversary live concert was an anniversary one, covering single songs, but this tour will likely be a tour with the album in tow.

After the announcement, they performed a new song "Puzzle," for which Ms. Wakai wrote the lyrics and music. The album "WONDERFUL PALETTE" gave the impression that they are both idols and artists, and this song is a symbol of that. Her talent to write songs that move you just by listening to the melody is a possibility for the future of i☆Ris.

The costumes for these two days were well received, so I hope they will let me design their next single as well!" (Azusa Shibuya)

I'm now 23 years old, and I'm wondering how long I can say that I'm the princess of the Wan Wan Kingdom.

I was so moved that I cried during "Puzzle" when I thought we had made it 5 years as 6 members without missing anyone. I am grateful that I am allowed to do what I want to do, and I believe it is because there are people who receive our support. Thank you very much.

As in the lyrics of "Puzzle," I really want to stick to the ideals I have chosen. I have not been able to love myself very much, so from now on I would like to love myself as the lyrics say and keep working hard in the 6th year as well.

I love everyone here. Thanks to everyone, thanks to the members, thanks to the staff, thanks to the family, I have been happy for the past five years. I will cherish the time I can spend with everyone from now on.

I hope you will love me even if I become an old lady. Today's setlist is really tough, but when everyone gets excited, I can't help dancing. I feel more and more grateful to all of you every year. You may be thinking, "He never replies to my messages (laughs)," but I hope you will support us for many years to come.

The live ended with "Happy New World☆". The live "i☆Ris 5th Anniversary Live~Go~", which was probably the most intense setlist in the history of i☆Ris, ended with a great excitement.
