Let's celebrate Lelouch's birthday together!　Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion: Lelouch's Birthday Screening" will be held!

On Tuesday, December 5, 2017, screenings will be held at nine theaters nationwide to commemorate the birthday of Lelouch, the main character of the "Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion" series.

Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion" is a TV animation series that aired its first season in 2006 and its second season "R2" in 2008. Set in Japan, which has become a territory of the Britannian Empire, the story depicts Lelouch, a Britannian who has acquired the power of absolute compliance, putting on a mask named "Zero" and leading a resistance army against Britannia. The clever storyline and beautiful characters (original character design by CLAMP/character design by Takahiro Kimura) made the series popular among both men and women.
In November 2016, it was announced that a trilogy of film versions would be produced, reconstructing all episodes of the TV series with new parts and all new postrecording, with the first part, "Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion I: Kodo", opening in theaters on October 21, 2017 (Saturday).

The screening will be held in honor of Lelouch's birthday, December 5, 2000 of the imperial calendar, at nine theaters across Japan in Hokkaido, Tokyo, Kanagawa, Niigata, Aichi, Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka.

On the day of the event, in addition to the main story of "Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion I: Kodo," a video with congratulatory comments on the birthday will be shown. Visitors will receive a blanket with a new illustration by Takahiro Kimura, a character designer for the series, and a set of postcards.
