As the event began, Haruka Fujita, series director; Akiko Takase, character designer; Yui Ishikawa, who plays Violet Evergarden; TRUE, OP theme singer; Minori Chihara, who plays Erica Brown and is the ED theme singer; and Violet Evergarden cosplayer Angie, took the stage and were greeted with applause.

Before the screening, Ms. Ishikawa said, "I think this work will touch the hearts of many people, even if they are from different countries and cultures. It is a rare opportunity to see it on such a big screen, so please enjoy the wonderful artwork, music, and story.

When the screening was over, the audience gave an especially loud round of applause and cheers. The six guests took the stage again and each spoke about their current state of mind and the highlights of the film.

When asked what he was conscious of in character design and drawing, Takase replied, "I was conscious of the direction of the light in order to blend the characters with the world view. I added reflections opposite to the direction of the light," he said.

The live session was followed by a rousing rendition of the OP theme, "Sincerely," which was greeted with cheers when TRUE appeared on stage. The audience responded to her heartfelt voice with blue penlights. Ms. Chihara appeared on stage and sang the ED theme song "Michishirube" softly and carefully, to which the audience listened attentively.

<Storyline
A certain time in a certain continent.
The war that divided the continent into north and south has ended, and the world is on the verge of peace.
Violet Evergarden, who fought as a soldier during the war, has left the army and come to a large port town.
She is still carrying in her heart the "one word" that someone she cared about said to her as they parted on the battlefield.
The town is bustling with people and streetcars pass by on the streets lined with gas lamps.
In this town, Violet encounters a "letter-writing job".
It is a job where she takes the client's thoughts and puts them into words.
She meets her clients face to face, and gets in touch with their honest feelings deep in their hearts.
And with each letter she writes, Violet gets closer to the meaning of the words she was told that day.
