The OP theme from January for the second series of the TV anime "March Lion" currently airing has been decided to be "Haru ga kita Bokura", a new song written by UNISON SQUARE GARDEN.

March Lion" is a TV anime based on Chika Umino's manga serialized in "Young Animal" (Hakusensha), which was broadcast from October 2016 to March 2017. The TV anime staff includes director Akiyuki Shinbo, character design by Nobuhiro Sugiyama, and animation production by Shaft. The second series is currently airing from October 2017.

It was announced this time that the opening theme from January 2018 will be "Haru ga kitaite Bokura", a new song written by UNISON SQUARE GARDEN.

It will be a pop song with a warmth that accompanies the work, and you can feel UNISON SQUARE GARDEN's character.
Tomoya Tabuchi (B), who wrote the lyrics for the song, commented on the decision to use the song as the opening theme, saying, "It was very intimidating to follow in the footsteps of the treasured songs of the past, but I wrote it in my usual way, with the intention of facing the work from the beginning so that it would shine a faint light in a corner of the work. I wrote it in my usual way. As Habaino-sensei's works are full of golden words, it was quite a challenge to find where to find the gaps in the story, and I approached it as a challenge as an artist," commented the artist.

I am Tabuchi, the bass player of UNISON SQUARE GARDEN, and I will be in charge of the OP theme of "March Lion".
I was very much afraid to follow in the footsteps of the treasured songs of the past, but I wrote it with my usual approach, with the intention of facing the work from the very beginning so that it would shine a faint light in a corner of the work.
As Ms. Umino's works are full of golden words, it was quite a challenge to find where to find the gaps in the story, and I approached it as a challenge for me as an author. I will accompany this song with my wishes for the happy endings of all the characters.
