Ichiro Mizuki, our "Aniki" sings the new theme song with passion! Mazinger Z/INFINITY" soundtrack CD to be released!

The original soundtrack will be released on January 10, 2018 (Wednesday), prior to the release of "Mazinger Z / INFINITY". In addition, a special music video of the OP theme song "Mazinger Z / INFINITY Version" sung by Ichiro Mizuki has been released.

Mazinger Z" is a manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) by Go Nagai in 1972, and can be said to be the originator of the combined/boarding type giant robot anime that depicts the activities of Mazinger Z, a giant robot with various armaments and overwhelming strength, and its pilot, Kouji Kabuto. The TV animation recorded the highest viewer rating of 30.4% in the 1970s, and also gained a large number of fans in various parts of the world. A completely new animated film will be released on January 13, 2018 (Saturday).

The soundtrack CD announced this time will be released in two types: a standard edition and a special edition. The standard edition includes the OP theme song "Mazinger Z / INFINITY Version," which was newly recorded for this work, as well as a number of music tracks from the film. In addition to the contents of the standard edition, the special edition includes the complete theme song, songs from the TV series "Mazinger Z" and "Great Mazinger" broadcast in the 1970s, as well as music from the play. The sound sources, which were high-resolution remastered from the analog master tapes of the time, can be enjoyed on a large volume of six CDs.

In addition, the special edition includes a storyboard for the OP, a dialogue between Toshiyuki Watanabe, who composed the music for the film, and his father, Spaceaki Watanabe, who composed the music for the original TV series, as well as a booklet with data and commentary on the recorded music.

In celebration of the release of the soundtrack CD, a special music video of the new OP theme song "Mazinger Z / INFINITY Version" has also been released. The special music video combines footage of Ichiro Mizuki passionately singing the newly recorded "Mazinger Z / INFINITY Version" with footage from the main story.

Mizuki, with a sharp look in his eye, clenches his fist tightly during "Rocket Punch" and sings "Breast Fire" in perfect synchronization with the posing of Mazinger Z in the movie, showing his powerful, energetic, and super passionate singing to the lyrics.

Even after 45 years, this work has not faded away and continues to attract new fans. Be sure to check out the soundtrack CD along with the film.
