Production of the new anime "SSSS.GRIDMAN! Electric Superhero Gridman" Tokyo Comic-Con 2017 Stage Report

On Saturday, December 2, 2017, a special stage for "Denko Choujin Gridman" was held at Tokyo Comic-Con 2017 (December 1-3) at Makuhari Messe.

Denko Choujin Gridman" is a special effects program produced by Tsuburaya Productions and TBS that aired from April 1993 to January 1994 on TBS (excluding some affiliate stations) every Saturday from 17:30 to 18:00 for a total of 39 episodes. Denko Chojin Gridman (電光超人グリッドマン) is a special effects program produced by Tsuburaya Productions and TBS that aired 39 episodes every Saturday from 17:30 to 18:00 on TBS from April 1993 to January 1994 (excluding some affiliated stations). The story is about a 14-year-old boy, Naoto Sho, who is devoted to building his own computer and transforms into a new century hero to confront the evil forces that are trying to control the computer world.

On stage were Hirozane Muraishi, the director of thespecial effects work"Denko Choujin Gridman," and Tetsu Amamiya, the animation director.Masaya Oo, who played Naoto Sho in"Denko Choujin Gridman"and Hyper Agent Gridman appeared asspecial guests andstruck a pose, which was greeted with a huge round of applause from the audience.

The MC and the three began to talk. Director Muraishi said, "I participated in "Electric Light Superhero Gridman" 24 or 5 years ago (broadcast in 1993). I am happy to see fans like this now because of that connection. Looking back to the time of filming (he was 15 years old), he commented, "It was a very difficult shooting situation back then, but even in that situation, I was not that busy because I did not appear after my transformation (laugh). Mr. Amemiya got hooked on "Electric Superhero Gridman" through reruns and said, "The enemy side was a very fresh character, and I felt more towards the enemy side.

In the following talk, while watching "Denko Choujin Gridman boys invent great hero," which Mr. Amemiya presented at the Japan Animator's Trade Fair in 2015, Director Muraishi said, "It's amazing. He made it in accordance with the images of the time. You can feel Director Amemiya's love for Gridman. He added, "I'm glad that we were able to create something that will lead to the future (by making a special effects version). Mr. Kooi also commented, "It's cool. I have goosebumps. It was also announced that Keiichi Hasegawa will write the script and Masayuki Goto, who has designed Ultraman since Ultraman Zero, will be in charge of Gridman design. Director Muraishi said, "In the special effects version, we never went out of the computer world to the outside world. I am looking forward to seeing what will happen in the animated version. There was also an announcement about the voice actors who are also anxious to see the film. He then revealed that Hikaru Midorikawa, who played Gridman in the special effects version, will also appear in the TV anime "SSS. GRIDMAN. A video message from Mr. Midorikawa was also delivered, in which he expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "Unlike when I was younger, I have more experience than when I played Gridman in the tokusatsu version, so I think I will be able to express myself in a new way. Director Muraishi commented to Mr. Midorikawa, "Mr. Midorikawa was still young at that time, and I wonder what kind of Gridman he will show us this time after being selected for the first time in 25 years. While expectations are rising with the release of some of the staff and cast members, the special effects version of "Denko Choujin Gridman" will be released on Blu-ray BOX on December 20!　To celebrate the release, it was announced that an event will be held. The name of the event is "Denko Choujin Gridman Special Event? The name of the event is "Denko Choujin Gridman Special Event: The Final Episode that Transcends Time and Space? The event will be held on January 8, 2018 (Monday). Those who pre-ordered or purchased the Blu-ray BOX at Kyanime will be invited to the event on a first-come, first-served basis. The speakers will be Director Muraishi, Mr. Koo, and Director Amemiya. A live commentary will be made while watching the final episode, "Farewell Gridman.

In addition, Gridman appeared again, and a photo session was held with the four of them. The talk event concluded with comments from each of the speakers.
