The official report of the "BEATLESS" special stage event at the "C3 AFA SINGAPORE 2017" anime event held in Singapore has just arrived, and we would like to introduce it to you.

Official Report of "BEATLESS" Special Stage Event

On November 26, a special stage event featuring "BEATLESS" was held at the Anime Festival Asia (AFA) in Singapore. Taking the stage to loud applause were the film's director, Seiji Mizushima, and producer, Junichiro Tamura. We asked them about the characters and information that will be released for the first time.

Director Mizushima has worked on many science fiction films. When asked about the difference between this work and his previous works, he said, "Expelled From Paradise was an original work, but this work is based on an original story, so it is difficult to convey the content of the story in a way that is easy to understand.

At this event, a new visual by redjuice, who is in charge of the original illustration, and the latest PV were unveiled. redjuice's original illustration is slightly different from the one in the novel, showing Lacia. The original illustrations by redjuice are so intricately drawn that it would be very difficult to move them in the TV anime as is. Director Mizushima confessed the circumstances of the offer, "The condition for accepting the director's position for 'BEATLESS' was to change the character design. I asked Hiroko Yaguchi, a female character designer, to design the characters, and with the input of redjuice, we worked together to create them," he said, recounting the process of creating the designs for the anime. She expressed her enthusiasm to the fans, saying, "I want to make this work easy to convey to people who are going to watch the anime.

Next, video comments from GARNiDELiA, who will be in charge of the OP theme, and ClariS, who will be in charge of the ED theme, were shown. GARNiDELiA, who sang the theme song in response to Director Mizushima's offer, said, "I created this song to give a push to Arato, who is troubled by various values regarding the coexistence of humans and non-humans, and to everyone who holds something important in their hearts, regardless of what others think. I hope you enjoy the song along with the anime.
Clara and Karen of ClariS commented, "The sound is futuristic, but the lyrics are warm and humanistic. As the story progresses, the lyrics are linked to the story, so please enjoy the song along with the anime as the impression you get from listening to the song changes rapidly.

The key to the story is the five humanoid robots, the Humanoid Elements, or hIEs, and the cast members who play them were introduced.
Nao Higashiyama plays "Reisia," a transparently beautiful tool "yet to be revealed to humans," whom Arato Endo meets by chance and signs a contract with as her owner. and Misako Tomioka, in the form of a young child, a tool "to be entrusted with evolution"; "Snowdrop" and Hiromi Igarashi, with flaxen hair and brown eyes, a tool "to create an environment, The "Saturn" is played by Shino Shimoji, and the "Metode" is played by Ten Amamiya, who is given a form that is clearly a machine and is used as a tool to "expand human beings.
Director Mizushima said, "We received redjuice's design for Lacia and worked to incorporate it into the anime, creating a new character while retaining redjuice's style. I think we were able to create a new character while retaining redjuice's style," he said. The theme of the film is a boy-meets-girl relationship between a soulless HIE girl and a human boy. At the same time, it is a work that asks whether AI can bring happiness to human beings," he said, adding the appeal of this work.

Director Mizushima, who carefully selected the actors through a series of auditions, commented on the atmosphere during postrecording: "There were many questions about the interpretation of the roles, and we worked positively on it. Mr. Tamura also commented on the fresh and friendly atmosphere at the studio, indicating that despite the difficult subject matter, the team was united in the creation of the film.

Lastly, Mr. Tamura commented, "The TV anime "BEATLESS" will start soon, and it will be available on Amazon Prime Video, so you can watch it in Singapore. I hope you will all watch it. Director Mizushima said, "We have been working very hard on the film, so I hope you will watch it when it airs. I hope you will watch it when it airs. Thank you very much," he concluded the event with a message to the fans in the audience.
