The TV anime "Overlord II," which will start airing on January 9, 2018 (Tuesday), has released a synopsis, advance cuts, and trailer for the first episode.

Overlord" is a TV anime based on the popular fantasy novel by Kugane Maruyama (illustrated by so-bin, KADOKAWA), which has sold over 4.1 million copies. The story is set in "Yggdrasil," an interactive online game that was scheduled to end its service, and depicts a lonely, dull young man who loves games in the real world as a powerful wizard in skeletal form who leads his own guild.

The first season of the TV anime, which aired from July to September 2015, attracted many fans with its overwhelming sense of scale and high quality visuals worthy of the name "the deadliest dark fantasy," and in 2017, a compilation movie version (Part 1 and Part 2) was released. The long-awaited second season of the TV anime is scheduled to air sequentially from January 9, 2018.
