2017/12/29-31] Another highlight of Comiket! Comic Market 93, Company Booth Report

Comic Market 93 (C93), the world's largest otaku festival, was held at Tokyo Big Sight in Ariake, Tokyo, from Friday, December 29 to Sunday, December 31, 2017.

Comic Market (commonly known as Comiket) is the world's largest coterie magazine exhibition, held twice a year in August and December. In this issue, we report on the booths that caught our attention in the corporate booth area in the West Hall.

Yuzawaya

One of the most interesting stores at this year's Comiket was Yuzawaya, a store specializing in handicrafts, fabrics, and hobby materials. Half of the booth was devoted to cosplay costumes. An interesting attempt was made to display the type and amount of fabric used in the creation of the costumes, as well as the budget spent on them. In the remaining area, a workshop was held where visitors could try their hand at making straps out of resin. It was a booth unique to a store specializing in materials.

Tokyo7th Sisters

The "Tokyo7th Sisters" booth held a handover event every day. On the final day, the 31st, Sakura Nakamura, Maika Takai, Yuki Kuwahara, Maiko Nomura, and Yuki Hirose appeared and spent time interacting with the managers (fans). Before the handover, Nakamura-san greeted the audience in a relaxed manner, "Manager, it's New Year's Eve...?" and greeted them leisurely. Kuwabara-san, who had been feeling a little under the weather, said, "Manager, I caught a cold...," to which Takai-san replied, "I'll do my best for Shi-chan today! Ms. Takai showed the bond between the sisters (roles) by cheerfully following up with, "I'll do my best for Shi-chan today!

Kaspersky

Kaspersky, an Internet security company, set up a special shrine to pray for safety, and its mascot, Kigurumi, also made an appearance. A fortune-like gacha (a kind of gacha) was very popular.

Marui Group

The Marui Group, which has been involved in various anime collaborations in recent years, exhibited at the Comic Market. The well-known "○○I" logo and the Hatsune Miku collaboration logo are impressive. Marui's unique feature is the Epos Card enrollment counter in the booth.

AbemaTV

At the AbemaTV booth, it was announced that the anime "Uma Musume Pretty Derby," scheduled to begin airing in April 2018, will be distributed on AbemaTV. I heard that the companion was also dressed as Uma Musume, but she was in normal mode when I went there.

NHK

The NHK booth was lined with stand pops for "Card Captor Sakura: Clear Card Arc," which will begin airing on Sunday, January 7, 2018! Although it has been almost 20 years since the first anime adaptation, there was no end to the number of people stopping in front of the booth to take pictures.

Boat Race Tama River

The Boat Race Tamagawa booth has become a familiar sight. Anna Kitasu, a professional boat racer, was dressed as the image character Shizunami Matsuri! She also showed a monkey-turn style pose at the photo session.

Tenka Hyakken -Zan- x Hackador x Ace Attorney Oceronia

DeNA exhibited at the "Tenka Hyakken -Zan- x Hackador x Ace Attorney Othellonia" booth. The latest character graphics with voices were displayed on digital signage, and official cosplayers were lined up in a row.

Chugai Mining Co.

At the last C92, "Million Live! goods, and this time "THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS" and "THE IDOLM@STER SIDEM" were also on the booth billboards. Azur Lane" goods that were being promoted on the walls were very popular and sold out one after another.
