The 10th anniversary best album by mao, who debuted with the opening theme "Yume Kanakete Doraemon" for the anime "Doraemon," was released today, January 10, 2018.

The best album, which includes songs from the anime "Hakuouki", the popular game brand Otomate's work "Code: Realize" series, and many other game tie-in songs, is finally available.
In addition to the tie-up songs that are being released on CD for the first time, a new song "Hollow song," which expresses her thoughts on the 10th anniversary, is also included.
The album is filled with all of mao's charms.

─ ─ Congratulations on the release of your 10th anniversary best album. Looking back over the past 10 years, how do you feel?

It has gone by really, really fast. I have met so many people, and I am indebted to so many people! It has all been food for the present. I am truly grateful!

─ ─ Are there any songs that have been turning points in your activities over the past 10 years?

First of all, "Yume Kanakete Doraemon", the theme song for the TV animation "Doraemon", which was my debut song and the beginning of mao. This song brought me into contact with many children, and I am still happy to sing it with them today. The next song is "Kimi no Kioku", the ending theme for the anime "Hakuouki", and I remember how beautiful the video was when it came on TV.

─ If you had to pick three songs from the best CDs that you are particularly attached to, which ones would they be? Which three songs would you pick out as your favorites and why?

Kimi no memento" (ending theme song for TV anime "Hakuouki") This is another beginning that led me to sing the theme song for an Otome game. It is an important song that leads to the activities of mao today, and the fact that the lyrics were written by me and adopted by the company gave me a lot of confidence when writing lyrics for the song afterwards.
The lyrics of "Kimi no Soba de" (opening theme song for the PlayStation®Reportable game "With You, My God") have a romantic element to them, and I wrote this song when I had just finished a relationship. I was very impressed with the song because it depicts my feelings at that time.
(Opening theme song for the PlayStation®RVita game " Code: Realize ~Himekimi of Genesis~") This is the first song I sang with myu, the composer. I had never sung a song like this before, and I enjoyed singing it because myu's world spread out endlessly in the melody line, and the grains of sound were vivid. On the other hand, it was also a very difficult song. It is a song that made me grow up.

─ You have a new song "Hollow song" in the album. What kind of song is it? What was the inspiration behind its creation, and do you have any recommendations for us to listen to it?

There are many things I think about as we celebrate our 10th anniversary. It has been a very short time, but I have had a very intense time. I am most grateful to all the people who have helped me. Now that we have reached our 10th anniversary, I wrote the lyrics to the song, hoping that it would be a turning point for me to relax my shoulders and continue singing for a long time to come. Hollow" means "emptiness," and the theme of the song is what kind of songs we can sing in the future when we are in such an "empty" state. The lyrics of the second chorus contain a message that I want to convey now. I hope people will listen to it when they are feeling a little down. The song was written and arranged by myu, so I hope you will enjoy it!

─ ─ What kind of year do you want 2018 to be? What kind of activities do you want to do?

I would like to continue to perform my songs in various places for various people. I would also like to continue working hard on my songwriting and composition activities. I would like to expand my musical range and continue to be able to proudly say that I love music and singing.

───What are your goals, prospects, and challenges for the future?

It is simple, but I would like to make an effort to maintain the status quo. These days I am feeling the difficulty of continuing for a long time (laughs).

─ ─ You also have a release event for this CD. Please tell us about your enthusiasm.

The songs are only possible if you listen to them! I hope that many people will come to the event! I would like to deliver each stage with all my heart. I would be happy if we could share various emotions together, such as crying, laughing, and feeling relieved.

───Are there any recent personal booms?

Is it too late? Maybe it's too late to say, but I'm addicted to collecting gachapin goods.

───Are there any anime or video games that you are into these days?

I'm dying to have a Nintendo Switch. I can't get one...I've been wanting one for a long time. Santa! Please give me a Switch! (laughs)

─ ─ Do you have a message for those who are looking forward to this CD release?

The best of the best! Literally! This is the best album I have ever made. I am very interested in how the listeners will feel and what they will think of the songs, which I decided after much deliberation! Please let us know what you think!
