This year marks the 50th anniversary of "Weekly Shonen Jump," which was first published in 1968 and is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. -Part of the exhibition contents and goods information of "Weekly Shonen Jump Exhibition Vol. 2: The Impact of Weekly Shonen Jump in the 1990s" has been released.
Weekly Shonen Jump" was launched in July 1968 as the twice-monthly "Shonen Jump" and became a weekly publication in 1969. The 3rd and 4th issues of the New Year 1995 New Year's combined issue had the largest circulation ever for a manga magazine, with 6.53 million copies sold. The magazine has continued to lead the shonen manga world with many works that have sold over 100 million copies in total, and will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2018.
To mark the 50th anniversary of Weekly Shonen Jump, which has produced numerous popular manga since its first issue, a large-scale exhibition, "50th Anniversary Weekly Shonen Jump Exhibition," will be held. This will be the first exhibition in Japan to feature original artwork from the first issue of the magazine and the largest-ever exhibition of original Jump artwork. The exhibition will be divided into three phases over 50 years, with "From the First Issue to the 80s" held in summer 2017 as VOL. 1, "The 90s" in spring 2018 as VOL. 2, and "The 2000s" in summer 2018 as VOL. 3, each of which is designed to be enjoyed by readers from different generations. The second exhibition, "The 90s," is scheduled to be held in the summer of 2018.

The second exhibition, "50th Anniversary Weekly Shonen Jump Exhibition VOL.2 - Impact of 6.53 Million Copies in the 1990s -" will be held at Roppongi Hills Mori Arts Center Gallery from March 19 (Mon) to June 17 (Sun) of this year. This exhibition will bring together "Jump Heroes" who were very popular in the 1990s and are still loved by manga fans around the world, offering a rare opportunity to experience the energy of Weekly Shonen Jump that swept the 1990s, with the 3rd and 4th issues in 1995 recording a maximum circulation of 6.53 million copies. The event will be a rare opportunity to experience the energy of Weekly Shonen Jump, which dominated the 1990s.
In addition to exhibiting original drawings and other materials from "DRAGON BALL," "SLAM DUNK," "YuYu Hakusho," and other representative "Weekly Shonen Jump" works of the 1990s, the exhibition will also feature a variety of special exhibits.
In addition, there will be a "Jump to 2000s" exhibition corner featuring the early works of five artists, including Eiichiro Oda of "ONE PIECE," who is responsible for "Weekly Shonen Jump" in the 2000s.
Also, during the exhibition period, official support days will be set aside for each of the eight works that gained popularity in the 90s, and a "JUMP Hero's Monday!" event will be held, with limited exhibits, special offers for visitors, and commemorative goods for sale.
