Ltd. has started accepting reservations for the " UNICORNGUNDAM Vernier Tumbler Titanium " (8,640 yen including tax, shipping and handling charges not included) at "GUNDAM Cafe online", Bandai's official mail order site.

The tenth in the "Discovery-G" series, which promotes Japanese traditions and superior technology from the Gundam Cafe, a base for disseminating information about Gundam, is now available, featuring the backpack on the back of the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, which has been on display as a full-size statue at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza since September 2017. It is a tumbler with a motif of "vernier," a cone-shaped jet device inside the backpack of "RX-0 Unicorn Gundam," which has been on display as a full-size statue at Diver City Tokyo Plaza since September 2017.
The tumbler was designed for functionality and design with reference to the setting materials for the RG and PG versions of Gunpla already on the market. Metalworking craftsmen in Tsubame created a series of prototypes based on the design.
The material used is TP270 titanium, the most harmless of all metals to the human body. It is an ideal metal that is light, rust-free, and durable. The container also has a double-layered structure called "double-wall construction" that prevents the temperature inside from changing, making it possible to keep beverages cold or warm for a long time.
The detail of the wavy unevenness on the sides was reproduced by spinning (flat drawing) from a single TP270 titanium alloy plate, which was a very meticulous process for the master craftsman. The craftsmen's skill is truly demonstrated by the uniform wave shape and angles.
The surface treatment this time is not the usual polishing process, but a blasting process, which is a completely new design compared to the conventional vernier tumblers. The metal surface has a matte and elegant finish by using a blasting process that uses compressed air with abrasive (small grains) to strike the abrasive onto the product.

<Vernier Tumbler Titanium Product Information

Please be sure to read the following <Precautions about this product>.

Regarding the overlapping horizontal lines on the tumbler body and the concavity around the convex side of the tumbler body
Regarding the overlapping horizontal lines, horizontal lines are expressed by a four-step press process centered on the convex side. In this process, the joint part is pressed twice. Therefore, the overlapping lines are more visible than in other areas. The concavities around the convex sides are pressed from the inside. In this process, the material is gently lifted, and the joint with the horizontal line is more visible. This is not a defect, but is caused by the manufacturing process of forming by the traditional Tsubame processing method.

About the coloring process of the body
In order to reproduce the unique burnt color of titanium, we have applied a coloring process using an anodic oxide coating, and since each piece is handmade, there will be individual differences in the formation of the coating, resulting in uneven coloring and striations. In addition, since the coating is easily abraded, the coloring will change depending on the frequency of cleaning and use. Please enjoy the handmade taste and change over time.

Care Instructions
After use, wash with a soft sponge, dry well, and store away from moisture, as this will accelerate wear of the coating. Do not use a dishwasher. Do not use cleansers, metal scrubbing brushes, or non-woven nylon surfaces. They may scratch the surface and cause discoloration or bleaching.
