The long-awaited anime adaptation of "Major Second"! Daigo Shigeno is played by Natsumi Fujiwara and Hikaru Sato by Koutaro Nishiyama! Of course, those two will continue to play their roles!

An anime adaptation of "MAJOR Second," a sequel to the baseball anime classic "MAJOR," has been announced, along with the broadcast start date, key visuals, main staff and cast.


The original comic "MAJOR" was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Sunday from issue #33 in 1994 (original story by Takuya Mitsuda). In 2008, the movie version was released and became a milestone in baseball animation, drawing 1 million viewers and grossing over 1 billion yen at the box office. Its sequel, "Major Second," will begin broadcasting in April 2018 as a long-awaited new anime series.


Today, January 19, the key visual and information on the main staff and cast were released.
The director is Ayumu Watanabe, who also directed "Danchi Tomoo" and "Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's Dinosaurs 2006.
The cast features Natsumi Fujiwara as the main character, Daigo Shigeno, and Koutarou Nishiyama as his partner, Hikaru Sato, both fresh faces who are rapidly gaining popularity.
As for the cast of Goro and Hisaya, Shoutaro Morikubo has been cast as Goro Shigeno and Seiichi Morita as Hisaya Sato, continuing the cast from the previous episode "Major," and will no doubt add even more excitement to the story.


The broadcast is scheduled to begin on April 7 (Sat.) at 5:35 p.m. on NHK E-television, and we can look forward to the start of the broadcast in April.
