Anipota Official Poll] Which is the most colorful "Shinkai World"? Voting for the "Best of Shinkai Makoto" has started!

The official voting project " Best of Makoto Shinkai " started today, January 30 (Tue.) on "Anipota," an anime portal operated by Akiba Research Institute.

The world created by Makoto Shinkai, who approaches the essence of human nature by depicting "a story of a man and a woman who pass each other in a beautiful and magnificent world," has fascinated many people beyond generations and national borders, as it depicts the shifting patterns of human hearts through encounters and passings between people in an intimate manner.
In 2017, Shinkai celebrates the 15th anniversary of his debut as an animation director. Therefore, we have decided to hold a popularity contest to determine the "Best of Shinkai Makoto's works" and rank them on "AniPota".

From "Hoshinokoe," the debut work for which Shinkai did most of the work himself, to "Kumo no Muko, Yakusoku no Basho" which won the Mainichi Film Concours for Best Animated Film despite being his first feature film, to "5cm per Second," which had an exceptionally long run despite being shown in only one theater, to the first full-scale jubnairy fantasy by Shinkai, "Hoshinokoe" was the first work by Shinkai. The film was screened at the same time as "Dareka no Gaze," the opening film of the Nomura Real Estate Group's "Proud Box Thanksgiving Festival," and "She and Her Cat," based on his early self-produced short film "Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko.
