Five open stages were developed in honor of the 5th anniversary! AnimeJapan 2018, Presentation Report

AnimeJapan, a large-scale anime event that has been held since 2014, will be held at Tokyo Big Sight from March 22 (Thursday) to 25 (Sunday), 2018. (Thursday, 22nd and Friday, 23rd are business days)
On Friday, January 26, "AnimeJapan Presentation" was held at Animate Hall, Animate Ikebukuro Main Store 9F, where the open stage program was announced as well as the latest information on the AnimeJapan 2018 sponsored projects.

The event was MC'd by Yosota Suzuki and Akane Fujita, who voice the 5th anniversary characters "AJ Brothers," and featured the AnimeJapan Executive Committee, consisting of 22 companies and 1 anime-related corporation. Among them were Kota Kitamura from PIERO Corporation, general producer; Teppei Nojima from Pony Canyon Corporation; Haruna Hayakawa from Sunrise Corporation, in charge of the Creation category; and Minae Tada from King Record Co, Takuya Mizutani of Nippon Animation Corporation, who is in charge of the Family Anime Festa category, gave an introduction of each category.

First, the number of exhibitors was announced: 162 companies in the main area, 65 companies in the business area, and 14 companies for Family Anime Festa 2018, for a total of 241 exhibitors (as of January 26). The number of expected visitors is also expected to be higher than the previous year, with 150,000 for AnimeJapan 2018 and 13,000 for the concurrently held Family Anime Festa 2018, both of which have been on a continuous upward trend since 2016.

The event also announced the stage information that many visitors are anticipating. The details of the stages, which will be introduced below, are as follows. This year, the 5th anniversary of the event, all stages will be open-type stages, and five stages (red, white, green, yellow, and blue) will be developed. The stages will be open to the public this year, and will feature five stages (RED / WHITE / GREEN / YELLOW / BLUE), where new animations will be announced, talk events, live performances, and other attractive events featuring popular animations and gorgeous guests.
Please note that in order to sit and watch the "AJ Open Stage," you must purchase an "admission ticket with stage application rights" and apply for a seat on the stage by lottery.
Also announced at the event were the designs of 21 types of "ticket holders" using original 5th anniversary visuals drawn for each work, as well as the titles of collaboration goods between popular anime works.

Other creation-related projects were also announced.
First, Mr. Hayakawa of Sunrise Inc. announced that "Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin" and "GODZILLA: Planet of the Monsters" would be exhibited at the "Production Works Gallery" under the theme of "The Present of 3DCG and the Future of Anime". Also, in the "Anime Works" section, which introduces various jobs related to anime, there will be an exhibit focusing on "advertising" with the theme of "Detective Conan: Zero no Shokugyojin" the movie.
Mr. Tada of King Record Co., Ltd. announced the program of "AJ x ABPF Anime Business University," a basic course of anime utilization business mainly in Japan, as an anime business related project, and "Introduction of Anime Works and Characters" for the purpose of promoting commercialization business matching in Japan and abroad. The program of "AJ x ABPF Anime Business University," a basic course on the business of utilizing animation in Japan and abroad, was also announced.

The two general producers concluded the event by saying, "As this is our 5th anniversary, we have more exciting plans than usual waiting for you" (Kitamura) and "Although the event was held about a month later than usual, I think that helped us to deliver good information such as the stage lineups.
