The latest in the series, "Monster Hunter: World" has surpassed 5 million units! The highest number of units shipped in the series in the first three days after its release!

Capcom's latest title in the popular "Monster Hunter: World" series has shipped more than 5 million units (including downloadable version sales), the highest in the series, in the first three days after its worldwide release.

The "Monster Hunter" series is a hunting action game in which players face off against giant monsters in a magnificent natural setting. Since the release of the first home video game in 2004, the series has steadily gained fans over the past 14 years, selling a total of 45 million copies. The series has grown into a blockbuster hit series that boasts cumulative sales of 45 million units (as of January 28, 2018).

Monster Hunter: World" is the latest title in this popular series and the first console title in nine years. Players become hunters who set foot on a "new continent" as members of a research team and explore an unknown continent.
This new title features major changes from previous titles in the series, such as seamless movement between areas and various actions, display of damage figures to monsters, and the ability to join quests mid-quest. In addition to the domestic market, the series was released on the same day worldwide for the first time in order to further increase support in the overseas market.
As a result, the game sold 5 million units within 3 days of its release, the highest in the series. Several free updates, including additional monsters, are planned for the future.

In addition, the "Monster Hunter: World" Hunting Championship is scheduled to be held in the spring of 2018 to determine the best hunter in Japan by holding preliminary contests in seven regions across the country.
In addition, "Monster Hunter: World" is being made into a Hollywood movie, and "Monster Hunter the Real" is currently being held at Universal Studios Japan.
