Shinkarion" and "Evangelion Shinkansen" have decided to collaborate on a TV anime!　Director Hideaki Anno comments on the collaboration!

A collaboration between "Shinkansen Transformable Robot Shinkarion," which began broadcasting on January 6 (Sat), and "500 TYPE EVA," the bullet train from the popular anime "Neon Genesis Evangelion," has been decided in an emergency. Comments from Hideaki Anno, the original writer and general director of the "Evangelion" series, have also arrived.

The anime "Shinkansen Transforming Robot Shinkarion" (every Saturday morning from 7:00 to 7:30), which began airing on January 6 (Sat), has become a hot topic on the Internet and SNS. Many viewers who watched the first episode, which depicts a father, son, and robot, commented that it reminded them of the anime "Evangelion. In response to these comments, the "Shinkarion" staff contacted the "Evangelion" side. It was urgently decided that "Shinkarion" and the bullet train "500 TYPE EVA," which was created from "Evangelion," would collaborate in the TV anime.

Evangelion Shinkansen "500 TYPE EVA" is a vehicle born from the "Shinkansen: Evangelion Project," which was launched in 2015 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the opening of the JR West Sanyo Shinkansen and the 20th anniversary of the start of "Evangelion" TV broadcasting. The train was designed by mechanical designer Ikuto Yamashita under the supervision of "Evangelion" director Hideaki Anno. It is extremely popular among Shinkansen and Evangelion fans, and is running one round trip per day between Shin-Osaka and Hakata until May 13, 2018.

In fact, the 500 TYPE EVA has already collaborated with "Shinkarion" on toys.
The "Plarail Shinkansen Transformable Robot Shinkarion 500 TYPE EVA" was released by Takara Tomy in October 2017. With its coloring inspired by the first EVA model and specifications that allow it to "cross combine" with other Shinkarion models, the toy attracted not only "500 TYPE EVA" fans but also Shinkarion fans and generated a lot of feedback.

Now, the collaboration between "Shinkarion" and "500 TYPE EVA," which began as a toy, has evolved into a collaboration within the TV anime in response to viewer feedback.
In response to viewer feedback, the collaboration will now evolve into a TV anime.
