To pray for the success of the spring anime "Gegege no Kitaro," 100 people, including the cast, visited the Nuta Tenjinsha Shrine in Chofu City, Tokyo.

Gegege no Kitaro" is a popular anime based on the late Shigeru Mizuki's manga, which has been animated five times and "Graveyard Kitaro," a faithful adaptation of the original manga, has also been produced. The story revolves around Mana, a 13-year-old girl who writes a letter to the Yokai Post, and Kitaro and other Yokai in an attempt to do something about the situation that adults are struggling to solve left and right.

The role of Kitaro will be played by Miyuki Sawashiro, Masako Nozawa, Toshio Furukawa, and Umeika Shouji, and a new character, Mana Inuyama, will be played by Yukiyo Fujii.

2018 Winter Anime List

This year marks the 50th anniversary of "Gegege no Kitaro" being made into an anime. The sixth season of the TV anime will start on April 1 (Sun.), and more than 100 cast members, staff, and related parties visited <Futa Tenjinsha> in Chofu City, Tokyo, to pray for safety during its production and that the work will be a hit and loved by many people.

On the day of the visit, the cast and crew, including Miyuki Sawashiro as Kitaro, Masako Nozawa as the first Kitaro, Toshio Furukawa as Rat Man, Umeika Shoji as Cat Girl, Yukiyo Fujii as Mana Inuyama, Mayumi Tanaka as Sandbag Granny, Satoshi Shimada as Crying Jiji and Nurikabe, Kappa Momen as Kitaro, and Kappa Momen as Kitaro, and Kappa Momen as Kappa Granny, were all present. Kappei Yamaguchi as Momen Ichiran, and all the other members of the main cast were present for the first time.

After the visit to the shrine, Shigeru Mizuki's wife, Fue Takera, and other related people and the cast members took a commemorative photo wearing the familiar Kitaro "chanchanko" and already the "Team Kitaro" looked perfectly in sync with each other. The team Kitaro was already in perfect sync with each other.

The Nuta Tenjinsha shrine, where they visited, is said to have been modeled after the forest where Kitaro lives, as Shigeru Mizuki, the original author of "Gegege no Kitaro," lived in Chofu. Mr. Sawashiro, who was given a special guided tour of the woods behind the temple, commented, "It really looks like a place where Kitaro might live. It is a happy start for all of us to be able to see it together." (The woods behind Nuta Tenjinsha is a sacred area that is normally off-limits to the public, so visitors are not allowed to see it).

Ms. Nozawa, who has voiced Kitaro in the past and will be voicing his father this time, commented, "For me, it's like Kitaro has grown up and become a father.

Fue Takera also commented, "I am praying for the success of this project, and together with Mizuki, I would like to express my deepest gratitude.

Comments from the cast and representatives of those involved who attended the purification ceremony are as follows.

Comments from the cast

Miyuki Sawashiro (Gegege no Kitaro)

The forest behind Nuta Tenjinsha is such a wonderful place that it really looks like Kitaro's house could be on top of this tree. Mako-san (Mr. Nozawa), Toshio-san, and Mayumi-san were there, all of whom have defeated powerful enemies (in various animation works), so I felt a tremendous power from them. I was very happy to see a really lively start.

Masako Nozawa (Oyaji Medama)

Today was the first time for all of us to get together, but I felt that we were all united right away, as if we had been working together for a long time. I feel happy that Kitaro has become a father after all these years and that he has a family. But Kitaro is a good work. It depicts the world of human beings and not the world of humans. We get to see both sides of the world, which is fun.

Naoko Haraguchi (eldest daughter of Shigeru Mizuki, President of Mizuki Productions Co.)

I am a member of the second Kitaro animation generation. As an elementary school student, this was the series I watched most often, and there were times when I was so scared I couldn't sleep at night. I vaguely remember watching the first season on a black and white TV with my father, Shigeru Mizuki, and the rest of the family. Now, I am very happy to see the birth of the "sixth Kitaro animation generation.

Fue Takera (Wife of Shigeru Mizuki, the original author)

I am very happy to hear that "Gegege no Kitaro" will be the sixth new anime. My husband spent 93 years of his life experiencing the war and devoting himself to making manga. I have heard that the program is scheduled to air on April 1. I am told that the program is scheduled to air on April 1, and I join Mizuki in expressing our sincere wishes for the success of this project.

Kitaro, the national hero of Tottori, has been on the air for 50 years! It has been 50 years since the first season started airing. About 10 years have passed since the fifth season of the previous production, and "Gegege no Kitaro" has returned. This July, Mizuki Shigeru Road will be renewed. It is a great pleasure and very encouraging for Sakaiminato City that the new "Gegege no Kitaro" will be aired at such a time. Let's join together to make it all the more exciting."
