The official report of the "Kickoff Summit" has just arrived, and we would like to introduce it to you.

The official report of the Kick-off Summit for Cyber Security Month
The "Kick-Off Summit" was held on Thursday, February 1, as the first day event of "Cyber Security Month.

Mr. Satoshi Hase, the author of this work, Mr. Nobuhiro Tsuji, an evangelist of Softbank Technology Corporation, and Mr. Ryo Bunzuki of the Cabinet Cyber Security Center, Cabinet Secretariat, took the stage as moderators for the recent cyber security dialogue.

In order to make the public aware of security issues through a familiar story, we invited Mr. Hase, the original author of "BEATLESS," in which the term "analog hack" is used to attack security holes that exist in humans, and Mr. Tsuji, who is engaged in security promotion and awareness activities, to participate in this dialogue This dialogue has been planned.

Analog hacking is a method of hacking (inducing) the "analog consciousness" of humans by targeting a security hole in our consciousness, in which we react to the same human "form" and our emotions move before our thoughts. (This is called "hacking" (inducing) the "analog consciousness.

For example, bank transfer scams using telephones and targeted attacks via e-mail may seem to be different problems, but many people are unaware that they are targeting the same gap in the human mind that all humans have. In order to have a common understanding of the problem, it was necessary to give it a name that is easy for everyone to understand.

Social engineering is hard to understand, but the term "analog hack" is easy to imagine, and it was very effective as a term to use in cyber security," said Mr. Bunzuki, explaining how the tie-up with BEATLESS came about.

The Cabinet Cyber Security Center had approached Mr. Hase about using the term "analog hack" for some time.

Mr. Hase warns, "BEATLESS is in the future, but it is possible to use AI to attack holes in the human mind in the near future. For example, having AI learn bank e-mails and automatically create targeted attack e-mails may become a reality in a few years.

I felt it was a very good idea to use the term "analog hack" to raise awareness of this," he said, agreeing that the term "analog hack" should be used to spread the word.

On the other hand, he also emphasized that analog hacking is not (equal to) evil. Communication to build relationships is a kind of analog hacking, which we also do unconsciously.

The catchphrase of the tie-up poster, "Do you know the analog hacks that can poke at the 'squeaks' in your heart? Mr. Bungetsu explained that the reason he chose to use katakana instead of the kanji character for "gap" was because he also wanted to convey the meaning of "liking.

What kind of promotional activities should be conducted in the future to raise awareness of analog hacking and security?
For those who are not interested in security, there will be many opportunities to let them know about it through a familiar story like this one.

Mr. Tsuji also commented, "It is not necessary for everyone to become familiar with the details, but it is important to disseminate information that a certain number of people become familiar with and how to approach this information.

For example, a bank employee may point out a victim who is unaware of a scam and attempts to transfer money to the bank, preventing the victim from doing so in advance. Mr. Tsuji said, "We should change our approach depending on age, gender, and other demographics to create an analog hack," and Mr. Bunzuki delivered his enthusiasm to the audience, saying, "I want to appeal to the demographic with low interest," bringing the discussion to a close amidst loud applause.

Finally, an image of Leisia appeared on the stage with the message, "We will hack you on March 4 in Akihabara.
The event closed with high expectations for what means of cyber security awareness will be promoted next time along with this work.
