Dennou Senki Virtualon x Toaru Majutsu no Index: A Certain Magical Index" (hereafter, "Toaru Majutsu no Dennou Senki") is an adaptation of "Dennou Senki Virtualon," the world's first 3D robot battle action game released by Sega in 1995, and Kazuma Kamaike's school xenobotsu battle series in the Dengeki Bunko The novel series "To Aru Majutsu no Index" is a miraculous collaboration of battle action games.

In this completely new title, the first in the "Dennou Senki Virtual-On" series in 15 years, characters from "Toaru Majutsu no Index" such as Kamijou Touma, Index, One Way (Accelerator), and Misaka Mikoto board virtualoids and battle it out in a school city.

The system retains the high-speed gameplay characteristic of the "Virtual-On" series, but adds a fourth weapon, the "Boost Weapon," which amplifies and releases the special abilities of the characters in the "Index of A Certain Magical Index" series, a new "Transition" action that allows players to link dash, jump, and attack, and a new "Dash to Jump" action that allows players to jump from dash to jump and attack. The "Hit Clock (HC)" point system, in which points are deducted if the player continues to play passively, has been added. The new rules allow players to enjoy speedier and more strategic battles.
