TV anime continuation announced! Report on the evening performance of the newly written reading play "Meiji Toukyou Kougyou - Haikara Romantic Theater 5

Meiji Toshikigoi" (also known as "Meikoi") is a historical romance fantasy game with a total of 300,000 players. The story is about the main character who travels back in time to the Meiji period, meets and falls in love with Mori Ogai (CV: Daisuke Namikawa) and other great historical figures, and was first released as a mobile application in 2011. Since then, the series has been widely distributed in a variety of media, including PSP(R) and PlayStation(R) Vita versions, an animated theater version, a stage version, and an app version.

On January 21, 2018, the largest-ever "Meikoi" event "Meiji Toukoi Kankyo ~Haikara Roman Theater 5~" was held at Pacifico Yokohama.

The event featured seven cast members: Daisuke Namikawa (playing Ogai Mori), KENN (playing Haruso Hishida), Kosuke Toriumi (playing Otojiro Kawakami), Nobuhiko Okamoto (playing Kyoka Izumi), Jun Fukuyama (playing Goro Fujita), Shinnosuke Tachibana (playing Yakumo Koizumi) and Tomoyuki Morikawa (playing Charlie).

During the evening session, which consisted mainly of a reading performance, the latest information about the TV anime "Meiji Toshikou Kougyou" was presented.

When the event started, KENN appeared on stage and sang "Dance in the Light," the theme song of "Meiji Toukoi Kankyo the Movie: Gentsuki no Koyakkyoku. KENN, who has sung the theme song throughout the "Meikoi" series, entered the "Meikoi" world with her voice.

This was the fifth "Meikoi" event "Meiji Toukoi Kankyo ~Haikara Romantic Theater 5~," and this time the stage was set in "Luna Park," an amusement park in the Meiji era.

The daytime stage was a variety stage, and the nighttime stage, which we visited, was a reading play written by Yukiko Uozumi.

The theme of the reading play was "escorting an amusement park date," and it began with Momosuke Iwasaki, voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya, promoting "Lunapark" as an integrated producer. However, the "date" does not seem to be progressing at all, as Charlie comes to sell penlights that were on sale that day and Harukusa begins to make snow sculptures of famous architectures.

Then, Kyoka appears in the snow, saying that Usagi, the appended mourning god she always carries on her shoulder, has gone missing. At first, the members were reluctant, but when they heard Iwasaki say, "If you are kind to Usagi, she will bring you good luck in marriage," they took the opportunity to look for Usagi and set out on a date with her.

During the performance, Fujita and Yakumo played kendama (a Japanese game of rock-paper-scissors-scissors), Ogai and Harukusa challenged each other to a fast-talking game, and Kyoka and Otojiro played Toratora (a game in which the winner is decided by making three gestures: "grandmother," "tiger," and "spear"), a familiar Japanese game of "Meikoi" (a Japanese game in which the winner is decided by making three gestures, like rock-paper-scissors). The audience cheered for their favorite character by coloring the penlights in their hands in their image colors.

The reading was filled with laughter from start to finish, but the mood took a turn when the missing rabbit was found, and it turned out that the mourning rabbit had fallen in love with the snow rabbit that Harukusa had created. The reading ended with a fantastic scene of dancing snow that Charlie had magically made fall, saying, "Even though it will eventually melt away, I hope we can be together for as long as possible. ......

During the daytime session, it was announced that "Meiji Toukyou Kougyou - Hawikaradeeto", the latest in the series that features "Momiji Ozaki", "Rentaro Taki", and "Taikan Yokoyama" as additional characters, will be released as an app this summer, and that advance registration had begun. In addition to information on the TV anime staff and production team, it was also announced that a live-action drama and even a live-action movie would be made.

In the evening session, as the latest information on the TV anime "Meiji Toukyou Kougyou," the characters drawn by Junko Yamanaka, who is in charge of character design and chief animation director, were newly announced.
