Official report on the opening day greetings for the trilogy "Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion II: Rebels".

The first day of the second part of the trilogy "Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion II: Rebels" was held at Shinjuku Wald 9 on Saturday, February 10, 2018.

After the screening of the film, Jun Fukuyama, who plays Lelouch, Takahiro Sakurai, who plays Suzaku, and Sunrise producer Yasumasa Tsuchiya appeared in the theater, which was filled with enthusiastic fans who had rushed to the first show early in the morning. (laugh). (Laughs) I was thinking back to how hard I was working back then. Producer Tsuchiya described the theater trilogy as "a compilation of the charms of 'Code Geass'" and continued that the work was aimed at both old and new fans.

At this point, singer-songwriter Sakura Fujiwara, who wrote the theme song for the second part, "The Moon," appeared on stage. Commenting on the song's intention, Fujiwara said, "Rather than writing the song from the perspective of a specific person, I wrote the song hoping to depict mixed feelings and forms of love from various people's perspectives. Producer Tsuchiya commented on the importance of the music in the film, revealing that "there were some parts where the composition changed a bit depending on the power of the song.

From here, the theme of the talk was about "all-new postrecording. Fukuyama shared a behind-the-scenes story, "I gave it my all, and about 15 minutes before the end of the second recording, my throat broke completely, so we had to re-record it at a later date," he said. Sakurai, who said he recorded the scene by himself, said, "It was interesting to work on the dubbing again and enjoy the work from various angles, including the experience I have accumulated.

Asked about his favorite scene that was cut from the second part, Fukuyama said, "My favorite line from Lelouch, 'I'll use you up and throw you away like a ragdoll,' is the most vile thing a main character in a TV anime can say (laughs). I wish I could have said it again," he commented regretfully, to laughter and applause from the audience.

In the end, he decided to say a few words to the fans one by one. Producer Tsuchiya said, "I made the music video for the theme song "The Moon" using footage from "Code Geass. It turned out pretty good, so please watch it". Mr. Fujiwara commented, "I hope you will also enjoy the song through the work. Mr. Sakurai commented, "Through this recording, I am once again experiencing the difficulties of acting while creating the work and the characters. I hope you can look forward to seeing how it will lead to the third part, "The Imperial Road," and what awaits us after that. Fukuyama then said, "I have delivered this work as if I had put everything I have felt in my heart and body into the lines, and I have done everything I could do in the third part, "The Imperial Way" as well. I hope that after seeing the trilogy in theaters, you will return to "Code Geass" once again.
