New song "aventure bleu" released. 2018 will bring Uchida Marei to an unknown world!

Marie Uchida will release her seventh single "adventure bleu" on February 14, 2018. It is the first time to meet with the writers: lyrics/meg rock and composition/arrangement/ Rasmus Faber. With lyrics and a sense of sound that she has never sung before, the song, as the title suggests, has become one of adventure.
This interview also began with a report on recent developments. He not only talked about the new song, but also about the events of the year-end and New Year holidays and his aspirations for 2018!

2017 was a year of hard work!

─ ─ Happy New Year (interview date: January 9). How was your New Year's holiday?

Uchida: Until the day before yesterday (January 7), I was working on the movie "Chunibyou ga Koi ga Shitai! -Take On Me" at six locations in Kyoto, Osaka, and suburbs of Tokyo. Director Tatsuya Ishihara, the usual four (Marie Uchida, Chinatsu Akasaki, Anzu Asakura, and Sumire Uesaka), and only at the beginning did Fukuyama (Jun) go around with us, but it was the first time in four years that we had all been together for a new movie, and I was so moved by how much we all got together after a long time. It was a good job at the beginning of the year.

─ ─ On the official Twitter account of "Chuunibyou de Koi ga Shitai! on Twitter, there were a lot of photos of you having fun.

Uchida That's right (laughs). (Laughs.) Even in the dressing room, the tension was high all the time and everyone was having a great time. They never stayed still, which made the makeup artist cry (laughs).

─ What was the most memorable part of the stage greeting?

Uchida Since we were going to visit many theaters, we decided to make a chronological table and talk over it. For us, we have a lot of memories from that time and it didn't seem like it was that long ago, but when I asked the audience, "Who knows Black Raison d'etre? I was surprised to find out that there were many customers who did not watch the TV anime in real time. But it has been 6 years since the TV broadcast.

─ Six years is a long time, isn't it?

Uchida: We also think about how we were back then, and it makes us nostalgic. Black Raison d'etre has a signature pose, and six years ago we were doing it jerkily, but now we all look at each other and say, "What do you want to do? Do you want to do it?" (laughs). (Laughs). Since I am no longer in active service and no longer wear the uniforms that I used to wear for the costumes, I feel a bit shy. As I felt the passage of time in this way, I was reminded how nice and fun it was to be on set for this work.

─ ─ You were deeply moved after a long time.

Uchida That's right. It had been many years since I played Rokka (Kotoyu) in postrecording. As for singing, I had sung "Chunibyo" related songs at Anisama and my own special events, but it had been a long time since I had sung in a new anime, and it had also been a long time since I met the director. Director Ishihara is a healing character for everyone (laughs). He always plays with us. The staff and cast of "Chuunibyou" are all very close.

─ ─ The special event "Maaya Xmas & Happy Birthday Party! 2017" was held on Christmas Eve, wasn't it?

Uchida Yes. It's only been a couple of weeks, but as the year comes to a close, it feels like it was a very long time ago. I had my birthday and Christmas at the same time, so I was packed with events. I enjoyed them to the fullest and worked hard to get over them before New Year's. Looking back, I feel that I was very busy at the end of the year.

─ How was the special event?

Uchida: The concept of this event was to show my inward self, not my outward self. We had a talk section called "Uchida Marei's Favorite Staff," and we had the stage director and other people who have always been a great help to me as guests. I wanted to make this an event that the audience who loves me would want to see this side of me.

─ You have different types of fans: those who have been listening to you since your debut single, and those who started with your recent songs.

Uchida: 2017 was a year of repeated challenges, and since we have been working to increase opportunities for communication, I think we met a lot of new fans. On the other hand, single songs such as "+INTERSECT+" and "c.o.s.m.o.s" were quite challenging and showed a different side of me, so I would like to say "thank you" to my long-time fans who still followed me.

─ ─ So 2017 was a year in which you did a variety of jobs?

Uchida Yes, it was. About two years ago, my goal was to "keep my feet on the ground," and from there, I wanted to "make flowers bloom" and "expand communication," and here we are today. When I was thinking about "keeping my feet on the ground," I was conservative, trying to do what I could do now, but last year I was able to take on more challenges. My work and my scope have expanded, and it has been a year in which I have come to realize how fun it is to work.

Uchida──Yoshinoya and I collaborated on the "Cheese Peperoncino Donburi" menu.

Uchida I did that. I also did the in-store narration. I couldn't imagine myself as a model for a beef bowl advertisement (laughs). (laughs) Basically, I want to do any kind of work that will make the people who like me smile.

─ ─ On Twitter, fans were excited on New Year's Eve with the hashtag "#Update memories with Marie Uchida". That was another good project to look back on 2017.

Uchida: I started to say "updating memories" from the live in February 2016, but seeing your tweets this time made me realize that 2017 was a really intense year. It was so intense that I felt as if the whole thing was just a year. I had to "update my memories" many times, and it was fun to look back on all of them. I felt like I was living in the moment. When I look at the video of the summer concert, I look really happy (laughs).

I look so happy even now when I think back on it.

Uchida I was very happy at the February concert and the summer concert, and it was a good year. The end of the year was packed and difficult, but it was also fun.

─ Were you able to relax during the New Year's holiday?

Uchida: Yes, I did. I thought, "Let's take a proper rest! I thought. I was able to start my work for 2018 with a fresh mind.
