The digital native generation idol group "WASUTA" attacked our editorial office to promote their RPG "Pasha★Mon"!

As part of the promotion of Sega Games' new sensation camera RPG "Pasha★mon," which has been in service since winter 2017, the digital native generation idol group "WASUTA" visited the Akiba Research Institute editorial office!
We will give away a special "Pasha Mon" T-shirt autographed by "WASUTA"!

Pasha Mon", a new type of camera RPG presented by Sega Games, has been in service since winter 2017.

This game uses "AI camera image recognition" technology to make monsters appear from photos.
When you take a picture ("Pasha") of objects, people, or scenery around you with your smartphone camera, the camera automatically detects the color, brightness, shape, etc., and a monster appears according to the subject.
Monsters can be obtained by "Pasha" and can also be "bred" to create more powerful monsters.
One of the features of this title is the ability to organize your own team of monsters and challenge them to "battles.
Battles are simple yet profound, involving the reading of attribute affinities and skills, and can be played alone or with friends, or against rivals from all over the country.

Pasha★Mon" was released in December 2017 and is currently being distributed to rave reviews, and "WASUTA" is currently working as a PR ambassador for the game.
WASUTA is a five-member idol unit consisting of Hazuki Sakamoto, Nanasei Hirokawa, Misato Matsuda, Ririka Kodama, and Ruka Mikina, a digital native generation idol group that transmits KAWAII Japanese idol culture to the world through SNS and real idol activities. The group's name is an abbreviation of "The World Standard," and they are also free to take photos during their live performances and post them on SNS at any time.

The girls visited Akiba Research Institute as PR ambassadors for "Pasha★mon"!
After explaining the appeal of "Pasha Mon" from a girlish point of view, they had a game face-off with "Akiba Research Institute" editor-in-chief Tsuyoshi Kamata!
Here is a report of the whole event.

In the early afternoon on a weekday, when we were feeling sleepy after lunch, five members of "WASUTA," instead of sleepyheads, attacked, or rather, visited the Akiba Research Institute's editorial office.

The sudden visit of the idols blew away the sleepiness of the editorial staff.

And since Valentine's Day was just around the corner, the editor-in-chief was presented with a gift of chocolates!

The editor-in-chief's nose is stretched out....

Now, let's get back on track and finally try playing the game.

What the editor-in-chief's eyes are looking at is more like Mr. Sakamoto's than the screen?

We started by taking pictures of familiar objects to try to get a monster.
I snapped a picture of a plastic bottle of tea that was close at hand.

This is the monster that came out.

Hiyadharma.

Perhaps because I took a picture of a PET bottle, a water-related monster seemed to appear.

Even if you take a picture of the same object, the monster that appears changes depending on the angle from which you take the picture, and even if you take a picture of a person's face, you can still catch a monster. Moreover, even if you take a picture of the same person, the expression on the person's face can also change the monster's appearance, so this is something you should definitely try.

Having mastered "Pasha," the five members of Wasuta kindly taught the editor-in-chief, who does not play social games very often, how to play the game.

As the five members of Wasuta began to explain the game, the editor-in-chief earnestly stared at the screen and listened intently to their instructions, asking questions about her favorite monsters and the appeal of the game.

The cute monsters were popular among the female players, and the editor-in-chief, who was operating the game after the explanation, also seemed to be fascinated by the cuteness of the monsters.

After hearing about the general operation of the game, it was time to move on to one of the game's attractions, the battle.

The "Editor-in-Chief's Team" consisting of the editor-in-chief, Mr. Mikina and Mr. Hirokawa, and the "PR Team" consisting of Mr. Sakamoto, Ms. Kodama and Mr. Matsuda, were divided into two teams, and the battle began!

The battle teams prepared for this showdown consisted of five monsters, Melty, Pufferleam, Mikazuchi, Saradia, and Ket-Sea, with five different attributes: fire, water, light, forest, and darkness.

There were also some monsters and useful items that the girls had not yet obtained, and they were saying, "Oh, this is the one I want! That's not fair! They were all shouting, "This is the one I want! The fact that there are monsters that have not yet been acquired by the players, even though they have played the game for quite a long time, makes the game that much more worth playing.

The battle progressed with careful explanations of attributes, skills, and other battle tips.

Ket-Sea, the mischievous and show-offy demon cat, is certainly a cute visual.

The battle progressed by making full use of various elements, and finally the battle reached its final phase!

However, at this point, a painful error occurred, as the "Editor-in-Chief's Team" communication was interrupted!

The "Editor-in-Chief's Team" quickly recovered, but were flustered by the unexpected situation.
The "PR team" was victorious this time.

Behold the difference in facial expressions between the losing editor-in-chief's team and the winning "PR team"!

After playing the game, we asked the editor-in-chief how he felt about playing this game.

──How did you feel when you actually played "Pasha★Mon"?

Editor-in-Chief: I don't usually play shadow games, but the graphics are detailed and the monsters are cute. I can say that games where you get monsters and make them fight have been around for a long time. There are games where you collect monsters by reading their barcodes. But those games had to insert the card through a slit in the device, so the card would sometimes get worn out. But "Pasha★Mon" uses a camera to take pictures, so there is no deterioration. In addition to the camera, it seems like the latest technology has been condensed into the game. The pictures are distinctive and the graphics are elaborate, so it's fun to collect monsters by taking pictures with the camera. You will want to take pictures of all kinds of things with the camera, so it will be fun to go out and collect monsters.

─ I heard that the monsters can even read the expressions on people's faces and change.

Editor-in-Chief: For example, if you are allowed to take pictures of people you don't get along with at school, and a strong monster appears, you can ask for another shot of it, saying, "It was so strong! It would be fun if we could become friends through such requests.

I hope you have learned that even beginners can enjoy playing "Pasha★Mon".
Even our editor-in-chief, who is not used to playing social games, enjoyed playing "Pasha★Mon," and we hope you will try it!

At the end of the event, the kind-hearted members of Wasuta gave the editor-in-chief, who had lost in the game showdown, a T-shirt as a present! One of the two autographed T-shirts will be given away to Akiba Research Institute readers, so be sure to apply!
