Mamoru Hosoda's latest film, "Mirai no Mirai", the long-awaited latest video is released!

The latest and much-anticipated footage from Mamoru Hosoda's latest film in three years, "Mirai no Mirai," which will be released on Friday, July 20, 2018, has been unveiled.

The latest images from "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time," "Summer Wars," "Wolf Children, Rain and Snow," and 2015's "Bakemono no Ko," which depicted the world of humans and beasts and drew a huge response, have been released one after the other. Mamoru Hosoda, who has created one blockbuster animated film after another and is now attracting the most attention in Japan and abroad, will release his new film "Mirai no Mirai" on July 20, 2018 (Friday).

Summer Wars" depicts a summer of interaction between a high school student and his large rural family, while "Wolf Children: Rain and Snow" depicts the independence of two children and the mother who raises them. The previous film "Bakemono no ko" depicted the adventures of a lone boy and his bond with a "monster" who becomes his master. Universal themes that everyone can relate to have been projected onto the screen, sometimes realistically, sometimes fantastically and colorfully.

In "Mirai no Mirai," his first new film in three years, Director Hosoda has written the original story and screenplay himself, as he did in the previous film. The film depicts the growth of the main character, a pampered 4-year-old boy named Kun-chan, who meets his younger sister Mirai, who has come from the future, through a series of first-time experiences.

The newly released trailer shows a scene where Kun-chan meets Mirai-chan, who has come from the future, as well as a view of a huge station platform that seems to be in the near future. In addition, we can see Kun-chan's ears and tail growing out (?). Kunchan is also shown running around happily as if he were a dog. New characters also appear, including a mysterious man who talks to Kun-chan, a girl who throws a wink at him, and a young man who rides Kun-chan on his motorcycle.

A little brother's mysterious big adventure. A world he has never seen before, new experiences, and many encounters. What is the place that Kunchan and Mirai have arrived at, beyond time and space? Why did Mirai-chan come from the future?

This trailer will be shown in theaters nationwide from March 3 (Sat). Expectations are high for more information to come.
