Spring 2018 Anime

It has been decided that Kiyoshi Hikawa will sing the opening theme song "Gegege no Kitaro" for the sixth season, which will start airing on April 1 (Sunday) (every week from 9:00 to 9:30 AM). The ending theme song will be "Kagami no nakakara nakara" sung by Maneki Kecha.

The anime "Gegege no Kitaro" has a memorable opening with the familiar theme song "Ge, Ge, Gegege no Ge~", and this time, too, the opening will be decorated with a familiar song. It has been announced that Kiyoji Hikawa will sing the opening theme song for the sixth season of the series. Mr. Hikawa has also sung the theme song for the currently airing anime "Dragon Ball Super" since February 2017, and will continue to sing the theme song for "Gegege no Kitaro," which will be in the latter slot.
Mr. Hikawa is enthusiastic about the project, saying, "Kitaro was like a 'mentor' in my life when I was a child. We hope you will take note of how the well-known theme song will be reborn.

In addition, Maneki Kecha will sing the ending theme song. Maneki Kecak is a five-member idol unit of "apprentice angels who landed in the human world to bring good fortune to this world," and their new song "Kagami-no-kunaka no Nakara" (From Inside the Mirror)," written especially for the program, is a collaboration between yokai and angels.
The members commented joyfully, "It has been one of our dreams to sing the theme song of the anime since its formation.

The anime "Gegege no Kitaro," which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, has been broadcast on TV five times in the past and has been loved by people of all generations. The work has always reflected the problems of each era through yokai (monsters) and incidents, and the new series will also firmly depict the darkness and problems of the modern human heart.

Kiyoshi Hikawa

I think this is a dream come true for me to sing the theme song for "Gegege no Kitaro"! Last year, I sang the opening theme song for "Dragon Ball Super," which I have been a big fan of since I was a child, and I was so happy that I was afraid I might have used all my luck for the rest of my life! Kitaro was like a "mentor in life" for me when I was a child. I even wanted to be a yokai when I grew up. (Laughs) I am so happy, I can't believe I am in this world. I am so glad that I became a singer and not a yokai. I would like to deliver a singing voice that will be familiar to everyone for a long time and that is uniquely Kiyoji Hikawa's."

Maneki Kecha

I am very excited to sing the theme song of an anime, which has been one of Maneki Kecha's dreams since the time of its formation, and to be able to do so on the 50th anniversary of "Gegege no Kitaro," which everyone is familiar with. I am proud that I have created a song that everyone, young and old, men and women, will enjoy. Not only the song, but there seems to be a connection between angels and yokai, so I have a little bit of hope that one day they will appear in an anime..." [Maneki Kecha member

Chiai Fujikawa
I'm really happy to sing the ending theme song for one of Japan's most popular anime.
I used to watch "Gegege no Kitaro" with my grandfather, whom I loved as a child, so I can't wait to tell my grandfather about it. Also, my hairstyle at the time seemed to resemble Kitaro's, and he called me Kitaro, so I feel like I am destined for this opportunity."

Rin Miyauchi
Congratulations on the 50th anniversary of "Gegege no Kitaro". I am very excited to be in charge of the ending song for an anime that is well known by the Japanese people. I sometimes imitate Mr. Oyaji's "Hey, Kitaro! I have been doing the "Kitaro!" imitation from time to time, but now that I am in charge of the ending song, I have to improve the quality...I think. LOL."

Reona Matsushita
I love anime and usually watch it with my mother, but I never thought I would sing the ending theme for "GeGeGe no Kitaro. I want everyone, children and adults, Kitaro fans and idol fans, to sing along. Oe oe oe oe!"

Miyu Nakagawa
I love anime and my dream is to be a voice actor, so I am really happy to hear that I will be singing the ending of "Gegege no Kitaro. Each member of Maneki Kecha has an attribute (I have the dark attribute), so if I wanted, I would like to appear in the anime and try my hand at voice acting."

Mio Fukase
The ending theme song for "Gegege no Kitaro" that we, Maneki Kecha, are going to sing, "Kagami no Naka Kara no Kara", is of course a cute song and dance, so I hope all the children, Kitaro and Yokai, will sing and dance along with us. I hope all the children, as well as Kitaro and Yokai, will sing and dance along with us.

Yuta Kano (Producer, Fuji Television Network, Inc.)
We are all thrilled that Mr. Hikawa will sing "the song" again, following on from "Dragon Ball Super"! The music was arranged by Mr. Kohei Tanaka, who is also well known for his work on "One Piece"! We hope you will watch the movie in real time on Sundays from 9:00 a.m. onwards. The ending song will also be sung by a wonderful artist who is as good as Neko Musume and Manami, which adds momentum and a big flourish to the program! I thought it was very interesting to see the chemical reaction between the strange and bizarre world of Gegege no Kitaro and Maneki Kecha, the apprentice angel who brings good fortune to this world! We will make sure that the ending is a must-see as well, so please be sure to watch the show all the way to the end!"
