Three million copies of the children's book "Wakaoka wa Shogakusei! is the first anime adaptation! Broadcasting will begin in April 2018 on TV Tokyo and other stations.

The children's book series "Wakaoka wa Shogakusei! will be adapted into an animated TV series, which will air on April 8, 2018 (Sun.) on TV Tokyo's six network stations.

The young lady is an elementary school student! (original story by Hiroko Reijo, illustrated by Asami) is a popular series published by Kodansha Aoitori Bunko that has sold a total of 3 million copies. The story is about a sixth-grade girl, Okko (Oriko Seki), who lost her parents in an accident and is now living at her grandmother's hot spring inn, Harunoya, and how she struggles every day as a young wolf to entertain the unusual guests who keep coming, with the help of Uribo the Yurei and her rival, Mayuki.

In this first anime adaptation, Seiran Kobayashi plays the role of the main character, Okko; Sousui Matsuda plays the role of Uribo, a Yurei; and Nana Mizuki plays the role of Magetsu, Okko's rival.

In addition, Mitsuyuki Masuhara of "A of Diamonds" and Higashi Tani of NHK Anime World's "Ani x Para: Who's Your Hero, Vol. 2 Para Athletics" will serve as co-directors, with Michiko Yokote of "xxxHOLiC" in charge of series composition. The animation is produced by Madhouse, one of Japan's leading animation production companies.

The broadcast will begin on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 7:14 AM. Expect to see the lively old men and women who step out of the world of the book and move across the screen!
