Singing, dancing, storytelling...even cross-dressing! Wataru Hatano's one-man live "Wataru Hatano Live Tour 2018 "LIVE KING & QUEEN"" LIVE QUEEN (daytime session) report!

On Saturday, March 3, 2018, the Tokyo leg of popular voice actor Wataru Hatano's one-man live tour "Wataru Hatano Live Tour 2018 "LIVE KING & QUEEN"" was held.

This tour is a one-man live tour held in Tokyo and Osaka. The setlist for this tour was released in advance. Each venue consists of two parts: "QUEEN," which is centered on sparkling songs, and "KING," which is centered on masculine, hard-hitting songs.

This time, we will report on the Tokyo show in the afternoon, which marked the beginning of the tour.

From the latest single to "Yuri" songs! A series of hit songs!

The stage for this tour, held in conjunction with the latest single "KING & QUEEN," was somewhat elegant and monotone in design.

The live performance finally got underway. Ms. Hatano appeared on stage in a white tuxedo-like costume reminiscent of a prince, with a skirt-like frill wrapped around her waist reminiscent of a princess, a visual that was truly "KING & QUEEN" style! She sang "KING & QUEEN" with dancers in tow.

Everyone, dance with me! Let's sing together!

The audience shouted "Never be too late" to which Ms. Hatano responded with a cheerful shout from the audience. This brought a smile to Hatano's face.

The audience was enveloped in a great sense of unity as they sped through to the third song, "Ryusei Jugyo (Meteor Flight)! The show was over in a blink of an eye.

This was the first live tour in a year, and not only the fans but also Hatano himself was looking forward to the event. I hope this day will be a memorable day for you and me," Hatano said happily, as he excited the audience.

The audience cheered her on, saying, "You look great!" She also said, "I wanted to wear this costume at least once in my life. The audience cheered, "You look great! Everyone couldn't help but smile as Ms. Hatano talked with the audience on stage in a friendly manner, as if she were having a conversation with them.

In such an at-home atmosphere, the live performance resumed with "You Only Live Once. This song is the ending theme song of the hit anime "Yuri! on ICE," a hit anime about men's figure skating, the song was the ending theme song for the show, and the choreography was reminiscent of figure skating. The following song, "Heart Signal," featured a bed on stage. Sitting on the bed, Ms. Hatano entertained the audience's ears and eyes with a dreamy performance in which she sang while playing with a doll modeled after herself. The warmth of the performance was evident in the way the whole team worked together to make the show a success.

After the song, Hatano-san sang "Yuri! on ICE," "Both Hanyu and Uno gave wonderful performances! I was so moved," she said, referring to the performance of Yuzuru Hanyu and Masamaro Uno at the recently held Pyeongchang Olympics.

Mr. Hatano, who himself played the role of Giorgi Popovic in the film, said, "We are acting out the monologues of the athletes with our imagination," "When we see them hugging their coaches or crying during interviews after their performances, it makes us realize that they have accumulated more than we can imagine. I was so moved when I saw them hugging their coaches or crying during interviews after their performances," he said, revealing that he was emotionally involved in the performance and cheering them on.

Ms. Hatano entertained the audience with her songs and talk, interspersing her talk related to the songs.

A secret guest with high female power! Onamomi Clover Z" made a surprise appearance!

The live resumed with "Fate of Coda" (opening theme of PSVita® "Dance with Devils"), a song from the game as well as an anime song.

Hatano captivated the audience with her passionate sound and voice, which were different from her previous songs, but the next image that appeared on screen caught the audience by surprise.

Suddenly, a news clip appeared on the screen, and the super idol "Onamomi Clover Z" (actually a cross-dressing Ms. Hatano) appeared on the screen, born from the popular NicoLive program "Kosuke Toriumi and Hiroki Yasumoto's Forbidden Live Radio". The live performance resumed after they commented on their message of support for Ms. Hatano from the distant land of Thailand. Ms. Hatano sang "ONAMOMI Kakumei ~Year End Myself~" with cute choreography. This song was not included in the previously announced set list, so the audience was surprised and pleased to see it performed on stage as a surprise. Yellow cheers shook the venue.

At this point, they changed their costumes. Wearing a light vest, Ms. Hatano performed a series of calm and jazzy songs such as "Wasuremono" and "Rhapsody in the Backstreets. In "Rhapsody in the Backstreets," she sang of a lost love while sitting at a bar counter! The stage with its adulterated sex appeal was a sight to behold.

The last song of the show was a dreamy new song for live performance!

The live was already in the last half of the show.

I became a voice actor because I wanted to meet you in two dimensions!

The song "Kimi ga iru Sekai, Kimi no Hareta Sekai (The World You Live In, The World You Don't Live In)," which evokes the passionate love of the main character who loves anime, started off with such exclamations. The way she sang, exposing 100% of herself, was so joyful that you couldn't help but smile.

In "I'm a Voice Actor," a song about herself as a voice actress, Hatano sang the voices of various characters with a comical pitter-patter sound. The audience cheered the most when he coolly said, "You're no good without me, you know!

The last song of the live was "All day long, All night long," a new song written especially for this tour. The theme of this tour is "a magical world far removed from everyday life," and this dreamy EDM number, perfectly suited to the theme, got the audience really excited.

The encore was filled with laughter and tears!

The encore was never-ending, and Mr. Hatano reappeared on stage to answer the call.

After warming up the audience with a funny episode with his good friend Daisuke Ono, a fellow voice actor, he went into the challenge corner where he performed an acoustic guitar performance.

The song challenged this time was "Mach 1.67. It was revealed that this song was actually a candidate for the ending theme of the anime "Hamatora. The actual song chosen as the ending theme was the 4th single "Hikari," but Mr. Hatano liked it so much that he decided to sing this song as well. Although the song is one that is very close to his heart, he said it was actually quite difficult to perform. However, after much practice, the performance was a success. The audience applauded Ms. Hatano for her versatility in singing, talking, and performing.

Kosuke Toriumi and Hiroki Yasumoto also offered supportive comments from "Kosuke Toriumi and Hiroki Yasumoto's Forbidden Live Radio," which gave birth to "Onamomi Clover Z." The voices of these reassuring allies were heard, and the audience was delighted to hear them. Mr. Hatano's smile was big at the sound of his reassuring allies' voices.

After the heart-warming moment, the live performance finally reached its finale.

First, they sang "Braver.," a towel song that was performed for the first time at the live. The choreography video had already been uploaded on YouTube, and the audience and stage waved their towels around with perfect timing.

The last song was their well-known debut song "Hajimari no Hi ni". The live ended with "Hajimari no Hi ni. Mr. Hatano sang a song that is the starting point of his music career slowly and deliberately. After finishing the song, he said, "Every time I sing this song, I feel like crying. I never expected that such a wonderful world would await me in the career of voice actor, which is what I had set out to do.

He left the stage, vowing once again that he would continue to sing while expressing his gratitude to the people around him and his fans.

After the "KING" live performance on the same night, the tour will come to its finale at the Osaka concert on March 18 (Sunday) (tickets are sold out). Let's see what they will show us on stage there!
