Captain Tsubasa" announces the rival characters and cast that will stand in front of Tsubasa and his team at the national tournament!

Additional rival characters and cast members for "Captain Tsubasa," a TV anime that will begin airing in April 2018, have been announced.

Captain Tsubasa" is a soccer comic by Yoichi Takahashi that began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) in 1981. The manga depicts a young soccer boy, Tsubasa Ozora, whose motto is "the ball is your friend," as he grows through matches against his teammates and rivals, and triggered a soccer boom in Japan when the popularity of soccer was still at a low ebb. The popularity of the series has spread outside of Japan, and it is a very popular work loved by soccer boys all over the world. In December 2017, it was announced that a new series will be produced.

This time, the cast and the unique rival characters who will stand in front of Tsubasa and his team at the national tournament were unveiled.

Megumi Ban plays Takeshi Sawada, an all-rounder who belongs to Meiwa FC and adores Hyuga; Yuichiro Umehara plays Ken Wakashimatsu, the goalkeeper of Meiwa FC; Ayako Takeuchi plays Masao Tachibana, the twin brother who is good at combination play; Yurina Watanabe plays Kazuo Watanabe, the younger brother; and Jun Misugi, the "nobleman of the field. "The Prince of the Field", Souma Saito as Jun Misugi, and Wataru Hatano as Hikaru Matsuyama, Hokkaido's hard-working captain.

The broadcast slots for TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, TV Hokkaido, and TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting have also been released. In addition to the previously announced broadcast slots for TV Tokyo and BS Japan, a total of seven stations will be broadcasting the series, so we look forward to the start of broadcasting.

Character Information

Takeshi Sawada (CV: Megumi Ban)

A member of the powerful Meiwa FC. He is an all-rounder who is two years younger than Hyuga.
Although he is younger than Hyuga, he has a firm side to him as he calms Hyuga down when he gets heated during a game.


Ken Wakashimatsu (CV: Yuichiro Umehara)

A goalkeeper for the powerful Meiwa FC. His style of play is in contrast to Wakabayashi's. He joins the attack depending on the game situation.
He is good at "offensive defense," joining the attack depending on the game situation.

Masao Tachibana (CV: Ayako Takeuchi), Kazuo Tachibana (CV: Yurina Watanabe)

They belong to the Hanawa Soccer Boys Club.
They are twin brothers who excel at acrobatic combination play. Masao is the older brother and Kazuo is the younger brother.

Jun Misugi (CV: Soma Saito)

Captain of Musashi FC.
He is a threat to Tsubasa because of his superior technique and leadership skills, but he has a handicap. He is popular among women and is called "the nobleman of the field.


Hikaru Matsuyama (CV: Wataru Hatano)

Captain of the Furano Elementary School soccer club.
He is a hard-working player who leads the team with his strong mental strength trained in the severe cold.
