TV anime "Hinomaru Sumo" will start airing in October 2018! Animation production is by GONZO!

It has been announced that the TV anime of the super heated and dynamic action "Hinomaru Sumo" will start airing in October 2018.

The manga "Hinomaru Sumo" (original story by Kawada; comics volumes 1-19 currently on sale), currently serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (published by Shueisha), is an exciting coming-of-age fighting romance filled with "friendship," "effort," and "victory" as men pursue their dreams of becoming high school wrestlers. Sumo is an ancient Japanese martial art and one of the few non-discriminatory fighting sports in which those who are "big" and "heavy" are said to have absolute dominance. In the world of high school sumo, where wrestlers of exceptional physique and talent are considered "national treasures," the small protagonist Hinomaru Ushio, as the "national treasure Onimaru Kunitsuna," fights fiercely together with his friends from a weak sumo club to become the "Yokozuna," the top of the sumo world.
