An anime adaptation of "Pet Remastered Edition" by Ranjo Miyake, which depicts the harsh fate of boys called "pets" who have the ability to hide in people's brains and manipulate their memories!

The animation will be directed by Takahiro Omori, who has been longing for a film version of this work for more than 10 years since he first came across it. The series is composed by Sadayuki Murai, who worked on "Natsukamimonomicho". The animation production will be handled by Geno Studio, the creators of "Slaughterhouse Organ", "Kikkoku" and other current productions.

Director Takahiro Omori's comment
Where does the shiver that comes from in our hearts come from?
The people we meet every day, the events we encounter, and the experiences they provoke in us, are they really happening? Or do they have their origins in our deepest memories, illusions that we see only in ourselves? Is it all contrived and alterable? Or is it all up to us?
I have been dreaming about finding the answer to this question since the series was first serialized 15 years ago, and I have been dreaming about it for "forever and ever. I finally had the opportunity to do so.

Comment from Sadayuki Murai, Series Composition
Director Omori's strong desire to adapt this original story into a film made this project possible. It is actually a difficult original story, but it is also a work that makes the process of working together on its visual expression that much more enjoyable. Not only the expression of the White characters, but also the relationship between the main characters is very attractive and I hope we can convey that well in the visualization.

In celebration of the anime adaptation, a teaser visual and teaser PV have been released, and an illustration and comment from the original author, Makoto Yukimura, have also arrived.

Illustration and comment from the original author: Makoto Yukimura
My name is Makoto Yukimura, the original author. Vinland Saga is going to be adapted into an anime! When the editor-in-chief of the monthly magazine "Afternoon" first told me that it was going to be an anime, I asked back, "What do you mean, the editor-in-chief? But after a little while, he started to mention big names such as WIT STUDIO. I was concerned about the health of the editor-in-chief, but finally a big announcement was made. It was neither the editor-in-chief's delusion nor my auditory hallucination.........................................nnnn banzai! I am so grateful. Moreover, WIT STUDIO, the studio that produced "Shinkage no Kyojun" and "Kabaneri the Iron Castles", will be working on this project. Nothing to worry about. All I can do is not to disturb the animation staff. As a viewer, I quietly stand by and this is all I can do. In fact, that is the best position to enjoy the anime Vinland Saga. I want to enjoy the anime version more than anyone else on the planet. To be honest, I would rather be a guest than a staff member! I won't move from my seat in front of the TV! So get in your chairs, everyone. Let's wait together for the divine animation that will soon come. I'm looking forward to it....
