Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin: The Birth of the Red Comet" will be released on May 5! Theme song and revival screening information also arrived!

The theatrical screening and Blu-ray pre-sale of "Gundam THE ORIGIN: Birth of the Red Comet" is set for Saturday, May 5, 2018.

The anime work is based on the manga of the same title by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, the character designer and animation director of the 1979 TV anime "Mobile Suit Gundam". The event screening of the "Char Seira Arc," which depicts the eve of the One Year War from the viewpoint of the popular character Char Aznable, began in February 2015. It was announced that the "Char Seira Arc" would be completed with "Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin IV: Eve of Destiny" and that the "Lum" Arc, which depicts the first battle of the One Year War, would be produced at the end of 2016 with a total of two episodes.
⇒Anime "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin", "Lum Arc" will be produced! The fierce battle at the beginning of the One Year War will be depicted in two episodes.

The long-awaited sequel to the "Lum Arc", "Episode 6: Birth of the Red Comet", will be screened in theaters and sold on Blu-ray in advance on May 5, 2018 (Saturday)! It was also announced that the theme song for this film will be "Tears in the Breaking Line" sung by Masayoshi Yamazaki.

This collaboration was realized at the request of Takayuki Hattori, who has created the world of "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin" through the power of music, and Mr. Yamazaki has readily accepted the offer. The lyrics will be written by Goro Matsui, who has provided lyrics for numerous anime productions.

For Mr. Yamazaki, this will be his first movie theme song since "Doraemon the Movie: The New Nobita's Birth of Japan" released in 2016, and the ROCK-inspired "Dashed Tears" is expected to further enhance the world view of "ORIGIN". The song is a ROCK tune, and is expected to further enhance the world of "ORIGIN.

<Masayoshi Yamazaki's comment
It was unexpected that Mr. Hattori wrote a rock style song, so it was fresh.
It was also a very fulfilling time for me to carefully savor Mr. Goro Matsui's lyrics.
I am looking forward to the release of the film.

In addition, to commemorate the release of "Episode 6: Birth of the Red Comet," a revival screening of episodes 1 through 5 will be held! This is a rare opportunity to watch the "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin" series in theaters, so don't miss it!

The synopsis of "Birth of a Red Comet".
On January 23rd, 0079, the battle to determine the winner between Zeon and the Earth Federation began at Side 5, Luum. Zeon, overwhelmingly outnumbered, launched a special assault battalion composed of humanoid "mobile suits," a secret plan, to turn the tide of the war and achieve a great victory. Among them, Char Aznable of the Zeon army is promoted to the rank of major with his red mobile suit "Zaku II," and is nicknamed the "Red Comet. After the Battle of Loum, the Earth Federation Forces plan "Operation V" to counterattack Zeon.
Behind the scenes, Amuro Ray, a young boy from Side 7, takes action on his own to find out the secret of a new weapon, the "Gundam. Meanwhile, in Antarctica, Lunatu sends a message to the world at an early peace negotiation meeting between high-ranking officials of both Zeon and Earth Federation armies...
