Animation Film Screening Schedule

Set in three cities in China, this is a gem of an anthology of coming-of-age stories that weaves together the past and present of young people who have grown up with precious memories they do not want to lose. Three talented young directors from Japan and China have come together to create this film: Yi Xiaoxin, a live-action director making his first attempt at animation; Yoshitaka Takeuchi, who has supported Shinkai's works as CG chief (this is his first original film); and Li Haolin, who admired Shinkai after watching "5cm per second" and sent CWF love calls for years. The three talented young directors from Japan and China have come together to create three sad yet heartwarming short films.

This time, a special 60-second video of "Shiki Oriki", which is scheduled to be screened at the CWF booth during the public days (3/24 (Sat.) to 3/25 (Sun.)) of AnimeJapan 2018, one of Japan's largest anime events, has been released. The special feature film is full of lingering images of poetic and vivid landscapes, which is CWF's forte.

The opening scene, "Breakfast in the Sunshine," depicts the beautiful pastoral landscape of the director's home province of Hunan, with its famous Sanxian rice flour and memories of his grandmother; "A Small Fashion Show" shows two sisters living hard in the big city of Guangzhou with memories of their childhood; and finally, "Shanghai Love" shows the director's hometown of Shanghai, with its ever-changing stone streets. The final film, "Shanghai Love," is a short but emotionally rich depiction of a boy and a girl's fresh adolescence in the director's hometown of Seokokomon, Shanghai.

In conjunction with the release of the special trailer, it has been announced that Mubicchiket tickets will go on sale on April 28 (Sat), and that the first purchase bonus will be an "original mini clear file".
