What does it mean to be a Pretty Cure?

--What does it mean to be a Pretty Cure? Pretty Cure" and your enthusiasm for the role?

Rie Hikisaka (Rie Hikisaka, who plays Cure Ale): My manager contacted me and said, "I never thought I would be accepted! I was so excited. I was so surprised that I couldn't say anything because no one, including myself, had ever imagined that I would be accepted. Even when recording started, it was still very difficult to record. But I am honored to be involved in a work called "Pretty Cure," which has been running for 15 years and is known by everyone.

I think it's wonderful to be able to be involved in a work called "Pretty Cure" that has lasted for 15 years and is well known by everyone. When my children grow up, they will be able to say, "I used to watch 'HUGt! Pretty Cure" when they grow up today (laughs).

Now, as the story progresses, we are just beginning to see new aspects of the characters that we cannot see from the surface. The characters are becoming more and more interesting as I get advice from the director and Fumi Tsubota, who is the series director.

Rina Motozumi (Cure Ange ): I auditioned for the previous "Kira Kira Pretty Cure Alamode," but I was so nervous that my mind went blank and I couldn't do anything that I wanted to do.

The audition for "HUGt! Pretty Cure" audition, I was able to go into the audition with the mindset that it couldn't be any worse than the last time, so I was deeply moved when I heard that I had been accepted. After that, it still felt like it wasn't real, but when I met everyone and had my voice recorded as Saya Yakushiji and Cure Ange, for the first time I felt relieved that it was really okay to be me.

As we recorded more and more of the main anime, I began to see more and more aspects of Sayaka that I did not know about her. I am now thinking about how to show her charm and how to make the work more exciting as I go through the recording.

Yui Ogura (Cure Etoile) This was my first time to audition for "Pretty Cure," and when I went through the studio audition, I learned about the traditional way of auditioning for Pretty Cure for the first time. There was a sense of tension that was different and more dignified than in other productions on .......

It was an audition, but the director and Mr. Tsubota, the series director, told us about "HUGt! Pretty Cure" and the characters. I was more nervous than usual during the audition because of these surprises, and I wasn't sure if I could give it my all.

However, "Pretty Cure" is a work that young children watch, so I wanted to convey my feelings to them, even if just a little. I think I was able to express my feelings. After I heard the result, I thought for a while, "It's not a surprise, is it? (laughs).

(Laughs.) Now I feel that I have to act confidently as Pretty Cure or else it would be disrespectful. I was very confident in my performance as Pretty Cure Superstars the Movie. But as I watch the backs of the senior Precures, I feel that it's our turn to carry on the tradition of this work. I hope I can continue to enjoy my role with responsibility until the end.

--What does it mean to the voice actors to be "Pretty Cure"?

Hikisaka: I feel that I am in a very responsible place when I think that the future of the children who are watching the show may be affected by it. But that is a miracle that happens only once in a lifetime or so. I feel really happy.

Motoizumi "HUGt! Pretty Cure" is the 15th year of "Pretty Cure," so I really feel that the baton is connected. Pretty Cure Superstars the Movie! I was really thinking how cool it would be to record the movie while watching the backs of my seniors in "Pretty Cure Superstars: The Movie. Of course, there is a lot of responsibility and pressure, but since I was chosen to be a Pretty Cure, I feel that I must do my best with confidence in my own way.

Especially in "HUGt! Pretty Cure" involves the elements of "occupation" and "parenting," so I would be happy if I can influence the children who are watching the show. For me, I am happy to be able to speak as a Precure, and I think it will be something that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Ogura: I feel that "Pretty Cure" is a work that is so much a part of the culture of its generation and era that it would not be an exaggeration to say that it is a reflection of the times in Japan. I am from the generation that watched "Futari wa Pretty Cure" in real time. Precure" reflects the culture and trends of the time, and what was popular at the time, so it is a work that has a great deal of weight as its history continues. The children who watched "HUGt! Pretty Cure", I hope that when the children who watched it grow up, they will be able to look at the items and language used in the work and remember the current era, and that it will become a work and character that will stay in their hearts, even if just a little.

Rie Hikisaka

Surprisingly similar? The cast is the character itself!

--What do you see as the similarities between the voice actors and the characters they play?

Honizumi Hana-chan (Hikisaka-san) is Hana-chan herself.

Ogura: She is very much linked to the person inside. She is straight and dedicated, and we have the same bangs (laughs). Rina-chan, who plays Ange, is also a kind-hearted older sister, calm and reliable.

Hikisaka: Just looking at Rina-chan makes me feel at ease.

Motoizumi Really? Oh, I'm so happy.

Hikisaka Homare-chan is also a girl with a gap between the two.

Hotoizumi Indeed, Homare is cool, but she also has a cute side.

Hikisaka I think that everyone has elements that are similar to me.

Rina Honizumi

--What were some of the things that the director and Mr. Tsubota, the series director, said to you on the recording set that left a deep impression? What did you think was important in your performance, etc. ......

Hikisaka: "Be more energetic than what you are doing now! Or, "Have more fun! Let's do it with energy!" I have received such advice.

Motoizumi: (Cure Ange's) Saya is "just an angel" (laughs). (Laughs) She also has wings, so I tried to express the kindness and receptiveness that envelops her. Saya lacks self-confidence, so she is not always happy when people give her compliments. But there is a scene in which Hana-chan says, "You can be kind to everyone because you have courage," and that really resonated with me. I would like to turn that part into Ange's strength in the meat-and-potatoes battles. In this way, I try to express both gentleness and strength.

Ogura: Homare is usually very cool and good-looking, the kind of person that all the girls look up to. But in reality, she is shy, and there are moments when you can catch a glimpse of her gap between the two. She is a nice and straightforward girl by nature, but she has had traumatic experiences in the past and has a prickly side to her. In the film, we see her struggle with wanting to take the first step but not being able to. Especially in the scene where Homare wonders if she can become a Pretty Cure, her emotional turmoil is very apparent. I was told that I should always be aware of Homare's emotional turmoil, so I was very conscious of that.

Also, since Homare has become a Pretty Cure, she is full of confidence, so I want to do my best to make her a cool character that everyone can admire.

--By the way, how was everyone's teamwork on the recording set?

Ogura: At the beginning, we were all very disjointed (laughs).

Motoizumi: We didn't get along at all. ...... We didn't get along even when we said "Se-no" (laugh).

Ogura Hana-chan (Hikisaka-san) was so nervous that she couldn't eat anything.

Hikisaka: I was finally able to eat a little (laughs).

(laughs). Ogura The staff also tried to make me feel at home. They would say things like, "Hana, you can relax.

Hikisaka: It is a warm place, like a father and mother watching over us!

Yui Ogura

She co-stars in postrecording! What I learned from the backs of senior Precures

-- "Pretty Cure Superstars the Movie! I heard that you worked with the voice actors of "Kira Kira Pretty Cure A La Mode" in the postrecording, how did you feel when you saw the senior Precure?

Motoizumi They were cool anyway. ...... When I was watching the recording, everyone knew the characteristics of the characters they were playing, and they were saying, "In this scene, I think this girl will do this, so can I act like this? I can act this way because I think she would act this way in this scene. I felt that I had to learn from him and make my own character more and more attractive.

Ogura: I was really moved by the fact that she talked with the senior Precures of the past. Even in the microphone work (the voice actors take turns in front of the microphone during recording), I became more aware of myself as a Precure by working with the senior members. I felt that I had finally become a member of Pretty Cure.

But I also started to see hope that we were starting to get along a little better. I was starting to see hope, and then when I saw the seniors matching their lines, I thought to myself, "Is this reality? The seniors told me, "We didn't match until about episode 20, so don't worry. We'll get together someday."...... On the contrary, I thought, "Oh, I guess we still don't get along" (laughs).

Hikisaka: As we record more and more times, I wonder if we will be able to get along better. But there are still some things that we can't see yet.

Motoizumi But on the other hand, I feel like I can't lose! I feel like I can't lose.

Ogura: Influenced by our seniors, I feel that we have become more united, and that we must strive to be better than them. I hope to become a great senior Precure next year.

--Lastly, what are some of the highlights of "Pretty Cure Superstars: The Movie! What are some of the highlights of the "Pretty Cure Superstars!

Hikisaka: In this story, everything starts with Hana-chan's failure to fulfill her old promise. How will Hana-chan approach her failure to keep her promise? I think that will be the key to the story. Also, Hana-chan's clash with the core of Clover (the guest character) is also a highlight.

Motoizumi: "Pretty Cure Superstars the Movie! has three generations of Pretty Cure, so there are interactions between the characters that transcend generations, which you can't see in the TV anime. I hope you will pay attention to that! If one isn't enough, two will be! If not two, but all of us! I hope you will watch it again and again, because I think you will feel the strong bond between the Precure characters and the unity of the characters as they fight together against evil.

Ogura: The theme of the work itself is "promise," which is easy to understand for both adults and children. However, it is not only for children, but also includes various scenes that will make adults realize anew the important feelings that they usually take for granted. It really is a film that can be enjoyed by the whole family!

--Thank you very much.
