SOUTEN-NO-KEN REGENESIS" with Tetsuo Hara, the author of "Suekuma is the most important", reports on the advance screening of the movie!

An advance screening of "SOUTEN-NO-KEN REGENESIS" was held at Akihabara UDX THEATER on Sunday, February 25, 2018, with Koichi Yamadera playing Kenshiro Kasumi, Setsuji Sato playing Yasaka, Shuyuki Hiyama playing Ip, director Akio Shikazumi, and Tetsuo Hara, the original author, as special guests. The audience was excited.

SOUTEN-NO-KEN REGENESIS" is a new "SOUTEN-NO-KEN" TV anime under the supervision of Tetsuo Hara, the author of the original story. It depicts the story of "the 62nd Hokuto Shinken master, Kasumi Kenshiro," who was called the most unrestrained, caustic, and the strongest in the 1,800-year history of the Hokuto.

At this advance screening, episodes 1 through 3 will be screened. Before the screening of the main story, Udo Suzuki and Hiroyuki Amano of Cay~n took the stage as special MCs to enliven the audience. Amano-san, who knew the work and was happy to be the MC for the day, and his partner-loving Udo-san, who was excited that the title included "Amano no Ken," which can be read as the name of his partner "Amano," engaged in light-hearted talk and provided a few laughs before the hot battle between the men began.

However, once the screening started, the friendly atmosphere took a turn for the worse. The audience watched the story with bated breath, overwhelmed by the dazzling muscles, blood and sweat dancing animation, and human drama depicted in full CG.

After the screening, Koichi Yamadera, who plays Kenshiro Kasumi, Setsuji Sato, who plays Yasaka, Shuyuki Hiyama, who plays Ip, and director Akio Kanazumi took the stage. Mr. Sato followed with "If you want to complain about Yasaka, tell the director! which made Yamadera laugh. The audience laughed at Mr. Hiyama, who played the role of Ip, saying, "You are not on the poster, but you have been invited. This is a character who first appeared in the pachislot series and then in the anime, and even though he is not on the poster, he appears at key points in the story, so he is likely to be one of the characters people will be interested in.

Mr. Yamadera made the audience laugh as he explained that even in a certain national anime in which he appears, the animation is not recorded in its finished form, but is already completed when the voice actors record it. In fact, the motion actors record the movements of the characters in advance, and the voice actors record in accordance with the motion actors' movements, which is a different challenge from dubbing for regular animation or Western films. As they were talking about their difficulties, Mr. Hiyama, who plays the role of Ip, made a shocking confession. The character played by Mr. Hiyama is covered with bandages all over his body, and since his mouth is also burned, he realized after a while that he did not have to be so conscious of his mouth movements. The audience laughed everywhere when they heard this confession.

After overcoming such hardships, the three were asked about their impressions of the three completed episodes. At this point, Mr. Yamadera pointed out to Ms. Sato, who plays Yasaka, that she had gradually become "goofy" during the recording. Mr. Hiyama agreed, and the audience was waiting for Mr. Sato's response. Mr. Sato, who has a thin voice, said that he was vocalizing to express momentum in order to bring out the atmosphere of the original work. Yamadera and Hiyama, upon hearing this story, were all "You're not putting in the right amount of energy! The scene of interest had not appeared in the three episodes screened that day, so I wonder if it will be aired in episode 4 or later.

From the discussion about the "voice," the conversation turned to the demise of the small fry characters that are synonymous with the "Fist of the North Star" series. The audience was surprised when director Shikazumi revealed that this scene was the one that received the most revision from Hara-san, the author of the script, during the script writing stage.

While the talk was full of behind-the-scenes anime stories, Mr. Hara, the author of the script, made a surprise appearance on stage!　The sudden surprise brought cheers from the audience, and the members on stage looked nervous.

When asked why he decided to draw "SOUTEN-NO-KEN" again at this time, Mr. Hara made a shocking comment, "I wanted to draw Kenshiro's death. Originally, "Fist of the North Star" was supposed to end with the death of the main character Kenshiro, but as Mr. Hara continued to draw the story, the idea no longer fit.

When asked about his expectations for this work, which is filled with such feelings, to be depicted as an anime, Mr. Hara replied, "Now that it is in full CG, the pictures can finally move smoothly. He commented that "now we can use animation to depict parts of the story that used to rely solely on the voice actors' performances," a slightly dry comment filled with high expectations. Hearing these words, director Shikazumi said that the production team is working hard to bring Hara's thoughts to the screen, and the talk stirred up anticipation for the anime broadcast.

He also announced that "Hokuto 35th Anniversary Commemorative Anime "SOUTEN-NO-KEN REGENESIS" Special Program: Complain to me about Hokuto" would be broadcast from 24:30 on April 2 (Monday), just before the broadcast! ～will be broadcast from 24:30.

The special program will feature two members of "Cay-Yan" as special MCs, a special interview with Mr. Hara and Mr. Yamadera, and appearances by Director Shikazumi, Mr. Sato, and Mr. Hiyama.

At the end of the event, the cast and crew presented messages to the fans who are looking forward to this work. "I want you to cut out other scenes and put in the final scene" and "I want the voice actors to play while playing", Mr. Hara requested to the production team, and his unique tone of voice boosted the morale of the production team.
