It's hard to maintain tension every time. ...... Report on an advance screening event of the sci-fi gag anime "Space Battleship Tiramisu," featuring appearances by Kaito Ishikawa and Takahiro Sakurai.

On March 31, 2018, an advance screening event for the spring anime "Space Battleship Tiramisu" was held, with Kaito Ishikawa, who plays Subaru Ichinose, Takahiro Sakurai, who plays Isuzu Ichinose, and director Hiroshi Ikehata on stage. Director Hiroshi Ikehata also took the stage for the talk event.

Space Battleship Tiramisu" is an everyday space science fiction gag manga about a handsome but reclusive ace pilot, "Subaru Ichinose," who is accompanied by his friends on the mother ship, Space Battleship Tiramisu, and his beloved private plane, Durandal. It has gained support from many fans and was ranked No. 3 (July 2016) in the "This Manga is Amazing! It is written by Satoshi Miyagawa and drawn by Ito Myo and serialized on the web manga site "Jellyfish Bunch" operated by Shinchosha.

Many female fans came to TOHO CINEMAS Ueno, the venue of the event, to see the film as soon as possible. On the day of the event, the first three episodes were screened in advance.
The first three episodes were screened in advance, and the audience laughed at the gags that were told in spite of the hard exterior with its handsome male characters and realistic robot anime visuals, The preliminary screening ended in the blink of an eye.

After the audience had warmed up, the three actors, Kaito Ishikawa, who plays Subaru Ichinose, Takahiro Sakurai, who plays Isuzu Ichinose, and director Hiroshi Ikehata appeared, all wearing matching "Kushikatsu" T-shirts (......), but only Ishikawa was wearing the front and back, and not just the front and back! T-shirts! Mr. Ishikawa, who had also prepared a joke about Subaru's mistake in the anime, also challenged the audience to a live change of clothes, just like in the anime, to the delight of the audience.

The talk event, which was full of stories from the very beginning, started with an introduction of the main characters. The main characters were introduced with their symbolic lines, and Mr. Ishikawa and Mr. Sakurai each read out the lines of the character they were playing. For some reason, the other characters mimicked the voice actors played by Hirofumi Ikehata, which again drew laughter from the audience.
The director was also asked about the character "Yin Mao" played by Joji Nakata, and when asked about the true meaning of the character, he replied that Mr. Nakata has appeared in some form in every GONZO work, and that this time he decided to play the role of Yin Mao after agonizing over whether to narrate or play Yin Mao.

In addition, Mr. Ishikawa mentioned that he was particular about the production of this short animation because it is a short animation, and that he kept shouting throughout the film. He confessed that although this work is a short animation and is recorded in three episodes, which takes about the same amount of time as a normal 30-minute animation, it is difficult to keep the tension high because Subaru screams every episode. In watching this work, you may want to pay attention to Mr. Ishikawa's passionate performance as he puts his body on the line.

Toward the end of the event, there was a corner for making "kushikatsu" (skewered pork cutlets) by folding flyers distributed at the venue. Mr. Ishikawa and Mr. Sakurai folded the flyers with single-minded devotion toward a table prepared on the stage. The speakers worked in silence, an unprecedented scene.

Finally, while information on future product development was announced, it was also announced that the show would be adapted for the stage. How will the zero-gravity dancing kushikatsu and the cramped cockpit be reproduced? The speakers are anxious to find out, but we would like to pay attention to this as well.

Space Battleship Tiramisu" will begin airing on April 2 at 25:00 on TOKYO MX, followed by Sun TV at 26:00, BS11 at 26:30, and AT-X at 22:35 on April 6.
