The gold standard of basketball manga, "SLAM DUNK" newly reorganized editions are published 4 months in a row! All cover illustrations are newly drawn by Takehiko Inoue!

A new reorganized edition of "SLAM DUNK," the gold standard of basketball manga, will be published for four consecutive months starting June 1 (Friday). It has also been announced that the cover illustrations for all 20 volumes, which have been reorganized according to each milestone in the story, will be newly drawn by Takehiko Inoue.

The series is a boys' manga by Takehiko Inoue that was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from issue #42 in 1990 to issue #27 in 1996. The series has sold more than 120 million copies in Japan. The story follows Hanamichi Sakuragi, a novice basketball player who joins the Shohoku High School basketball team, and rapidly develops his talent as he clashes with teammate Kaede Rukawa and competes against other strong schools. The story's depiction of gripping games and characters who put their adolescence on the line to play basketball resonated with readers and won overwhelming support. The TV anime aired from October 1993 to March 1996, and a game was also produced.

A different version of the book, the "Newly Reorganized Edition," will be published for four consecutive months starting on June 1, 2018 (Friday). The 31 volumes of the existing JUMP Comics "SLAM DUNK" have remained popular and are still being published, but this year marks the 50th anniversary of the first issue of "Weekly Shonen Jump" and this "new reorganized edition" will be published.

The new reorganized edition of "SLAM DUNK" will be published in a total of 20 volumes, with the 31 volumes of the previously published JUMP COMICS reorganized into 20 volumes at each stage of the story, including the "conclusion of the game". The title of each volume is also given in the form of a title such as "Shohoku vs. Shoyo," so that the contents of each volume can be identified at a glance.
The author, Takehiko Inoue, will be drawing new illustrations for the covers of all 20 volumes!
The 20 new cover illustrations will show new expressions of the characters and never-before-seen scenes from a different perspective from the existing Jump Comics, so be sure to check them out.
