Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online" BD & DVD Volume 1 will be released on June 22!

The first volume of the Blu-ray and DVD of the TV anime "Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online" will be released on June 22, 2018 (Friday).

The anime is based on the novel by Reki Kawahara, which won the 15th Dengeki Novel Award (Grand Prize), and follows the adventures of the main character Kirito in the mysterious next-generation online game "Sword Art Online. The second season aired from July to December 2014.

And on February 18, 2017, the anime movie "Sword Art Online the Movie -Ordinal Scale-," with a story written by Kawahara, was released. It was a huge hit in Japan, grossing 2.5 billion yen at the box office and drawing more than 1.77 million viewers. Furthermore, at the "Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival 2017" held in October 2017, it was announced that "Sword Art Online Arisimation" and "Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online" would be adapted into TV anime.

Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online" is another story of "Sword Art Online" by Keiichi Shigurezawa of "Kino's Journey" fame, with tense and realistic battle scenes as its main attractions.

The first volume of Blu-ray & DVD of "Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online" will be released on June 22, 2018 (Friday)! At the same time, the newly-drawn jacket illustration and the special features of the Limited Edition have been revealed.

The limited edition includes a box containing all the volumes, a CD with character songs, and a special booklet, as well as non-credit opening and closing scenes as bonus videos. The contents are worth seeing, so be sure to check it out.

The ED theme song "To see the future," sung by Tomori Kusunoki, who plays Ren, the main character of this work, will be released on May 9, 2018 (Wednesday). Don't miss it either.
