On April 15 (Sun.), Sega's first e-sports tournament "Puyo Puyo Championship in Sega Fest 2018" was held at the "Sega Fest 2018" event at Bellesalle Akihabara.

PuyoPuyo Championship in SEGA FES 2018" is the first official tournament in the popular action puzzle game "PuyoPuyo" series for players who have acquired Japan eSports Pro License. A total of 15 players, including 11 players who obtained professional licenses based on prior recommendations and 4 players who obtained licenses by winning top prizes in the Japan eSports Pro License recognition tournament "Puyo Puyo Cup in SegaFest 2018" held yesterday, Saturday, 14th. The tournament was a great success from the first round, as the players were all super experts who had obtained their professional licenses. The audience was enveloped in a whirlpool of excitement.

Kamestry and Machyomu won the fierce battle and advanced to the finals. Both players had been playing in tournaments for more than 20 years, and were sworn rivals in the Puyo-Puyo world. In the end, it was Machyomu's stable play in both offense and defense that won the match, and she was crowned the first champion of the "PuyoPuyo Championship.
