Otaku ni Koi wa Hanaku" Episode 1: So it's not just men who are otaku, but both men and women!

Narumi is an office worker who is secretly a rotten girl, and Hirotaka is a serious video game otaku. The romance between the two is a new type of romantic comedy that portrays otaku romance in a positive light. This is a new type of romantic comedy that portrays otaku romance in a positive light. This is a new type of romantic comedy that portrays otaku romance in a positive way.

When you think of otaku love stories that have been made into live-action or anime films, the first that comes to mind is "Densha Otoko" (Train Man), a true love story based on posts on 2chan. It has been made into a movie starring Takayuki Yamada and Miki Nakatani, and a TV drama starring Atsushi Ito and Misaki Ito, and has probably contributed to improving the image of otaku.
However, the book was published in 2004, and the movie and drama were made in 2005, so perhaps the image of otaku from that time is now outdated in this work.

The main character, Narumi Momose, is "an all-round rotten girl who likes many genres such as manga, otome games, and idols. At work, she does her best to appear normal and is more afraid of being exposed as an otaku than anything else." (excerpt from the official website).
I would have thought that the male protagonist would be the main character from the title, but I was wrong.
The female protagonist, Narumi, also seems to have a so-called fujoshi (rotten girl) element, although I didn't know this until the beginning of the story.

Since the heroine is a fujoshi (rotten girl), I thought that Aziko Kojima's "My Neighbor 801-chan" or "Fujoshi Kanojo," which has "fujoshi" in the title, would be better suited to this story. I am watching the movie without having read the original work, thinking that the story is more similar to "Densha Otoko" than to "Densha Otoko".

The story begins with Narumi's first day at his new company.
Narumi suddenly oversleeps and is about to be late, so he rushes to the train and jumps on a train (*Don't do this, it's dangerous).
From the beginning of the film, we don't see much of the typical Fujo-like behavior of girls.

Then we move on to the opening scene, and it was here that the author made a full-fledged comment to the audience.

Why are both main female characters wearing black (or dark brown) tights? I was like, "Why are both main female characters wearing black (or dark brown) tights?

Why are both of them wearing dark tights?

Then the main story begins and the boss of the case, Mr. Koyanagi appears.
The voice is our own Miyuki Sawashiro.
Her voice already gives off a sense of "This boss is so smart! The main character Narumi is looking at Mr. Koyanagi's boobs.
I know what you are thinking.
I understand how she feels, and it's only marginally acceptable because she's a woman, but if a man did that, he'd be out of the picture!
I am so envious of her.

The first incident of this story takes place when Ms. Koyanagi, who is cool, beautiful, and has big boobs, is showing me around the company.

That's right, Narumi's wotanbare.

During the tour of the company, two male employees happen to pass by, and one of them is Hirotaka Nito, Narumi's childhood friend.

It was a mistake to call out to the acquaintance, but Narumi was quick to make plans for the future. As one would expect from someone who has lived his entire life without being exposed as an otaku, Narumi was able to quickly make a plan for the future.
But just as I was about to tell him not to say anything unnecessary, he replied, "What are you going to do about the next Summer Comic?

Narumi's blood was boiling.

The "Great Scenes Reflection Maker" on the official website allows you to create your own "great scenes" using your favorite photos of scenes and text!

However, neither the male boss nor Mr. Koyanagi, who was present at the scene, seemed to have noticed the words or not (the reason for this will become clear later), and they simply let the scene change to Hirotaka and Narumi drinking sake together at a pub after working.

For some reason, they are seated at the counter, holding a game console.
They appear to be playing MonHun, a hunting game.

At this point, there is one thing I want to say out loud.

If they were going hunting together, they should have said something like, "I'm going to join your company, but I don't want to reveal my otaku status to anyone, so don't do anything that would make me do that! I don't want to be exposed as an otaku.

I had no idea what was going on, as I had never been in the same company as a childhood friend of an otaku, but at the izakaya, I succeeded in nailing him once again. Narumi.

The reason he changed jobs in the first place was because his boyfriend at his previous company had found out that he was an otaku, and he quit because he felt uncomfortable there.

And when Hirotake says, "You should go out with someone who understands you," the protagonist brushes it off with, "If someone understands me, that means he's an otaku too, and I hate otaku because they are gross! The protagonist puts his own life on the shelf.

He must be very careful about his appearance in order to put himself on the shelf, but I can't help but think how hard it must be for an otaku to have to think that much about his life.

I can't help but think how hard it is for an otaku to have to think that much about their lives. I wondered if it was my imagination, but then I saw the same subtle expression on Hirotake's face in a subsequent scene, and I thought, "Oh, I see what you mean.

The story then turns to Narumi, who suspects that Mr. Koyanagi may be an otaku as well, and tries to find out his true identity by any means necessary.
Narumi, using a method one step short of committing a crime by surreptitiously snooping on Koyanagi's cell phone screen from behind, succeeds in discovering her true identity.

What a charismatic layer she was! !!!!!!!

And she once came to buy a coterie magazine created by Narumi.

Ms. Koyanagi, calling out her pen name at the time, said, "I threw that name away!" but the two instantly became friends.
I am curious about what happened to them after that, but it seems that the main character was able to change jobs rather quickly after quitting his previous company. What kind of work were you in charge of at your last company?

And today, Narumi and Hirotake went to the izakaya again.
Hirotake was invited by Narumi to consult with him about something.
He thought it was a debriefing about Koyanagi's charisma, but it turns out it was just a request to help him collect materials for the game.

As Narumi looks back on her past relationships, Hirotake says to her, "You can't go wrong in an Otome game, can you?
However, Narumi's face as she responded with a full-throated, "That's right! Narumi's face as she replies, "That's it!

This face is really awful.

And then, Hirotake's words to Narumi, who still wants to fall in love, explode here.
This is the second incident for me.

Then why don't you just go with me?

What?
Isn't that the line that appears in the last episode?

I thought it would be the story where the main character realizes that Hirotake's words and actions up to now were all an appeal that he likes her, and she blushes at his words and says, "What? I thought the story was going to be about Hirotake's appeal to her, but then he says that line in the very first episode! I thought it was going to be a story about the main character who realizes that he likes everything about himself and blushes at his words, but then, in the very first episode, he comes up with that line!
Hirotaka is a nerd, and he says that he will collect materials for the game, raise his level, and sell them at next week's event, and that he won't make fun of him for being an otaku.

Hirotake is too manly!

The first episode ended with the two getting together.

The story was completely different from what I had originally expected (a story about an otaku boy who can't fall in love), and the otaku couple, Narumi and Hirotake, got together so easily in the first episode.

What will be depicted in the second and subsequent episodes?
Will the other characters' romances also be depicted?

I'll be waiting for the second episode to air with the excitement of not knowing the original story.

Here are some of the best scenes that I have seen in the show. The images and text are for illustrative purposes only.
