Isekai Izakaya - Izakaya Nobu in the Ancient Capital of Aethelia - Episode 1: Drinking Triaeznama Tonight: ......

Isekai Izakaya: Izakaya Nobu in the Ancient Capital of Aethelia" (hereafter "Nobu") is a work based on the recently popular theme of otherworldly things and food. The owner of "Izakaya Nobu" is located on a desolate street in Kyoto, but somehow the front entrance of the restaurant is connected to the medieval European-style otherworldly city of Aethelia, the ancient capital of Japan. Nobuyuki Yazawa, the proprietor, and Shinobu Senke, a waiter, run the restaurant for the residents of this other world.

People from all walks of life, including guards, craftsmen, merchants, and aristocrats, come to "Nobu" to relieve their fatigue of the day with good sake and snacks...... just as if they were Japanese businessmen drinking at an izakaya.

In the first episode, two guards, Nikolaus and Hans, visit Nobu on payday. They cannot read the Japanese menu on the wall, of course, but Nikolaus, who had visited the restaurant before, orders "Triaeznama (draft beer)," which every salaryman who has been to an izakaya has said at least once. The sight of them drinking draft beer, coupled with the voice actors' performances, made us feel the urge to quench our thirst as we watched.

The main dish this time was oden. Oden differs considerably between Kanto style and Kansai style, but Nobu is a Kyoto restaurant, so it is still Kansai style.
Hans seemed to be tired of eating potatoes (kartoffel), which were included in the oden, but when he added Japanese hot pepper, as recommended by Taisho, he was reminded of the new taste of potatoes. Incidentally, I, too, am a fan of oden with Japanese hot pepper paste. The hot sake that Nikolaus drinks goes well with oden, but the problem is that he drinks too much of it.

While the anime is a bit short at about 10 minutes, the second half part "Nobu + PLUS," in which cookery researcher Kijima Ryuta arranges and actually cooks dishes from the main story, will be broadcast afterwards. The second half of the program, "Nobu + PLUS," in which cookery researcher Martha Kijiji actually cooks the dishes that appear in the main program by arranging them. The menu is easy to make even for amateurs (?) and looks really tasty, so it is also a must-see.

The ending song "Prosit!" by Clammbon, which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, is played along with a digest of the first episode and a menu that is expected to appear in the future. Incidentally, Mito, also of Clammbon, is in charge of the music for this work, making it a composition that Clammbon fans will love. A look at the staff credits at the end of the film reveals that many of the staff members involved in the cooking scenes are involved in the design of the dishes, supervision of the cooking and food scenes, and other aspects of the film, indicating that they are also very enthusiastic about the cooking scenes. The voice actors who appeared in this first episode were Tomokazu Sugita (Nobuyuki Yazawa), Suzuko Mimori (Shinobu Senke), Atsushi Abe (Hans), and Shotaro Morikubo (Nikolaus), and the cast of characters who will appear in the future is also very promising.

For those who will be watching "Nobu" from now on, please prepare some drinks and snacks, and watch it leisurely without drinking too much.
