Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love" Chapter 5 "Purgatory Arc" Theatrical Trailer Released! New cast includes Isao Sasaki, Ayaka Takagaki, and Tomoyo Kurosawa!

Theatrical trailer footage from "Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love Chapter 5, Purgatory Arc," which will begin limited-time theatrical screenings at 35 theaters nationwide on May 25, 2018 (Friday), has been released. The film also announced new characters and announced that Isao Sasaki, Ayaka Takagaki, and Tomoyo Kurosawa will join the cast as new members.

Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love" is a sequel to "Space Battleship Yamato 2199," a remake of the classic "Space Battleship Yamato" that became a hot topic. As the title suggests, the film is inspired by the 1978 animated film "Farewell Space Battleship Yamato: Warriors of Love." Three years after Yamato completes its voyage to Iskandar, the threat of the battle nation of Gatlantis, the Imperial Star, looms over a recovering Earth, and the Yamato crew faces a new voyage to confront it. The executive producer is Shoji Nishizaki, the director is Nobuyoshi Habara of "Blue Sky Fafner," the assistant director is Makoto Kobayashi of "Space Battleship Yamato: Resurrection," and the series composition and screenplay are by Harutoshi Fukui of "Mobile Suit Gundam UC. Chapter 4, "Tenmei Arc," the latest in the series, will be screened from January 27, 2018 (Saturday). The fifth chapter, "Purgatory Arc," will be released on May 25, 2018 (Fri.).

A 60-second theatrical trailer featuring the latest footage from "Chapter 5: Purgatory Arc" has been released.
The trailer features the tense expression on Commander Yamanami's face, Zhoder's "Trample! and a word that foreshadows a major upheaval in the development of Chapter 5, the trailer is filled with even more powerful battle scenes, and new characters are also introduced.

The new characters will be played by Ayaka Takagaki as Saki Todo, the captain of the mysterious battleship, and Tomoyo Kurosawa as Mina Ichise, the chief navigator. The role of Commander Yamanami's colleague, Apollo Nome captain Yasuda, will be played by anime song legend Isao Sasaki, who also sings the opening theme song. He will be returning to "Space Battleship Yamato" as a voice actor for the first time in 18 years since "Saraba Space Battleship Yamato: Warriors of Love.

In addition, a 30-second trailer, a compact version of the 60-second theatrical trailer, has also been released. In this 30-second trailer, the ending theme song of Chapter 5, "Yoranka" by "Arimashino with MayTree" will be played to liven up the film.
