Shiki Ori" is a character from "Kimi no na wa. and "5 Centimeters per Second" directed by Makoto Shinkai. Set in three cities in China, this short animated film consists of three short stories "Breakfast in the Sunshine," "A Small Fashion Show," and "Shanghai Love," which are based on the themes of "food," "clothing," and "housing." Three talented young directors from Japan and China have come together: Yi Xiaoxin, a live-action director making his first attempt at animation; Yoshitaka Takeuchi, who has supported Shinkai's works as CG chief (this is his first original film as director); and Li Haolin, who admired Shinkai after seeing "5cm per second" and has long sent love calls to CWF. The three talented young directors from Japan and China have come together to create three sad yet heartwarming short films.

Cast Comments】 ※Titles omitted

Breakfast in the Sun
Taido Saka / Playing the role of Xiao Ming (young man)

I myself am a very grandmotherly child, so I could really relate to Xiao Ming's feelings for his grandmother. I also feel that this film gave me an opportunity to revisit memories that I had almost forgotten before I knew it. I think everyone has many memories from their childhood that have been pushed to the back of their minds as they go about their daily lives. I hope that this film will make you look at those memories once again.

A Small Fashion Show
Minako Kotobuki / Playing the role of Irin (elder sister)

I played the role of Irin, who is a strong and really straight person. I was directed to play her powerfully because I wanted her to have a wild tension from her daily life. I would be happy if you could feel the passion of Irin. It is such a warm work that will surely make you want to see your loved ones after you finish watching it. Please enjoy it.

Haruka Shiraishi / Playing the role of Lulu (younger sister)

Playing the role of Lulu, who clashes with her sister Irin but overcomes and grows together with her, gave me courage and made me feel very warm. I hope you will watch the film, as I am sure it will give you a refreshing feeling that will make you want to start something new! I hope I can help give you the courage to take the first step forward.

Hiroki Yasumoto / Playing the role of Steve

Steve was a very strong character, but for some reason he was also refreshing. Please enjoy the wonderful space where such a well-balanced character can come alive. For me personally, after the recording, I missed my sister and wanted to have a sister (laugh).

Shanghai Love
Takeo Otsuka / Playing the role of Remo

Limo is a boy of his age who is a bit proud and not honest with the girls he likes, but as he grows up, his heart changes along with his environment. I think you will feel a variety of things, including loneliness and nostalgia, from the changing townscape and the relationship between Limo and his friends. I hope many people will watch the film.

Ikumi Hasegawa / playing the role of Xiaoyu

It was the first time for me to play a major character in an anime, and I was nervous, but I played the role with great care, focusing on Xiaoyu's wavering feelings. To be honest, I felt like I had finished the recording before I realized it, so I am very nervous about the release of the film...! Shanghai Love is a sad but warm and wonderful work about a changing city and first love. I am sure it will leave a lasting impression on you, regardless of the country or time period. Please enjoy it with beautiful images.
