Akiba Research Institute's official voting project "Nostalgic Masterpieces Come Back to Life! Recommended Remake & Reboot Anime Popularity Poll" has been completed. This time, 4,160 votes were cast.

Which remake is the most popular among the remakes that re-animated the classic anime with today's technology and the reboots that reworked the original work from a completely different perspective? Here are the top 10 works.

In first place is "Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love," a film based on the 1978 animated film "Farewell Space Battleship Yamato: Warriors of Love" that continues to reign supreme with its overwhelming strength, depicting the threat of the battle nation of Gatlantis, the Imperial Star, looming over a rebuilding Earth three years after Yamato completes its voyage to Iskandar. The long-awaited fifth chapter, "Purgatory Arc," will be released in theaters on May 25 (Fri.), and the momentum is expected to continue for the time being.

In second place was "Space Battleship Yamato 2199," a remake of the classic "Space Battleship Yamato," and the " Space Battleship Yamato" series completed a one-two finish without once giving up the top spot!
 Once again, this result reconfirms the popularity of the "Space Battleship Yamato" series.

In third place was "Arslan Senki: The Heroic Legend of Arslan," which quickly increased its votes in the latter half of the year to overtake such masterpieces as "Mahoujin Guru Guru (2017)" and "Fullmetal Alchemist FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST" to take third place.

In seventh place was "The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These Encounter," a new visualization of the original novel "The Legend of the Galactic Heroes" starting from the first volume "Reimeihen," and in eighth place was "Rebuild of Evangelion," a rebuild of the "Neon Genesis Evangelion" TV animation. These works, which are supported by a wide range of generations, showed a sense of stability.

In 9th and 10th place, with only a four-vote difference, were "HUNTER x HUNTER (2011)" and "Kino's Journey -the Beautiful World- the Animated Series," both based on popular comics and light novels that have been adapted into anime multiple times.
