A demo version of PS4's "Detroit: Become Human," a much-talked-about game about a future in which androids have awakened to their own selves, is now available!

A demo version of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SEE)'s "Detroit: Become Human" for PS4, scheduled for release on May 25, 2018 (Friday), is now available on the PlayStation Store.

Detroit: Become Human" is a demo version of "Detroit: Become Human" by French game developer Quantic Dream, creators of high-quality adventure games such as "HEAVY RAIN" (PS4/PS3) and "BEYOND: Two Souls" (PS4/PS3). This is the latest title from French game maker Quantic Dream.

The story takes place in Detroit in the year 2038, where "androids" have developed AI and robotics that have given them intelligence and appearance beyond that of humans. While society enjoys unprecedented affluence, the rising unemployment rate and widening disparity between the rich and poor have increased anti-android sentiment. Machines that act on their own initiative, as if they were human beings. Is it life or a thing? Through androids, what is a human being? What is life? Players will be confronted with these questions again and again through the three androids, "Kara," "Connor," and "Marcus.

In this "open scenario adventure," the story changes dramatically depending on the player's actions and choices. Decisions, statements, and actions taken by the player in the story will change the situation, and have a significant impact on the development and ending of the story itself.

For example, "Kara," a household android working in a father-son household, is confronted with a scene in which the father, the owner, tries to violate his daughter. Kara is torn between the conflicting choice of faithfully following the owner's order to "stay put" and the ethical action of protecting her daughter. The story progresses regardless of which choice the player makes, and a different story unfolds depending on the choice.

By actively making a series of choices, players will choose the fates of various characters and the fate of the world of humans and androids. While the game is set in the near future, the human theme of the game is also relevant today, so players will be able to enjoy an unprecedentedly realistic and "personal" story experience while having their emotions stirred.
