This season's featured ani-songs are groovy tunes that make you feel people's warmth! DJ Hiroyuki Deguchi's "Just Shut Up and Listen to Anime Songs! in Spring 2018".

Hello to all 10 million anime fans in Japan. I am Hiroyuki Deguchi, a wandering bassist and DJ focusing on anime and special effects songs.
Around the time when all the new anime titles for each season are released, a column with too much subjectivity comes out of nowhere: "Just Shut Up and Listen to Anime Songs! I've been writing this column since its inception. This column has been running for exactly one year now. Thank you very much! I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you and all the anime works and anime songs out there. The second year means that we can easily look back at the anime works and anime songs from the same period last year in the back numbers. As we enter our second year, we are finally becoming more documented, and "Just Shut Up and Listen to Anime Songs! We look forward to your continued support.

Now, without further ado, let's start with my impressions of the Spring 2018 anime season.

This season has seen a very strong lineup of "sequels to popular works" and "anime adaptations of popular comics and novels". Of course, there are also many great new original titles, but I have the impression that this season's attention was especially focused on "works that are highly controversial in many ways even before they air": "Oretachi ya yokai ningen G", a reboot of "Yokai ningen Bem" which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2018, and "Ashita no Joe", which will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of its serialization in 2018. Speaking of 50th anniversaries, let's not forget "Cutie Honey Universe," an anime adaptation to commemorate Go Nagai's 50th anniversary. Universe," an anime adaptation to commemorate Go Nagai's 50th anniversary. This work has been revived with a modern taste, while retaining the cuteness and healthy eroticism that is characteristic of Gou-chan's original works.

These three works are celebrating their 50th anniversary, and the starting year is "1968," the year when television exploded and the "TV era" began to arrive in earnest. It was the budding year of a culture that continues to this day, such as animation and special effects. It is interesting to see works that originated in 1968 alongside new works from 2018. Moreover, they are not easy remakes, but rather "experimental and innovative attempts that make no regard for the original source material," and together with the current works, they form the current trend in animation in 2018.

Something new is happening in anime right now. I think there are enough works to make us feel that way this season.

Personally, I was too happy to see "Captain Tsubasa. I was so happy to see the NANKATSU era once more! At the same time, I was a little sentimental as I remembered watching TV at dinner time when I was a child.

This season has such a wide variety of high-profile works, but let's select a song from all of them that we can sing along to. Let's select an anime song from all of them.

Here are the 10 songs that Watakushi Deguchi chose for the "Just Shut Up and Listen to Anime Songs in Spring 2018!

There were many great songs this season as well! That's all! Good bye!

Yes, I won't say this to everyone anymore. Let's get right to the explanation.

This season, I was particularly impressed by "songs with a great vocal and instrumental groove. There were many moments when I was captivated by the unique fluctuations and gaps, as if I could catch a glimpse of a person's personal side, which cannot be divided by a number. Therefore, rather than flashy and loud songs that can be categorized as so-called "beat-based music" such as EDM, many of the songs have a more subdued temperature. There are some high-tension and flashy songs, but there are fewer nonsense and abnormally high-tension songs, so-called "radio wave songs," that were often heard not so long ago. Perhaps it is seasonal, so we may be able to hear liberating (too liberating) radio wave songs in the summer.

Please refer to the next page for the explanation of each song!
