Thoughts on "Isekai Izakaya - Izakaya Nobu in the Ancient Capital of Aethelia" Episode 4: It's complicated that the same type of fish has different names based on size: ......

Isekai Izakaya: Izakaya Nobu in the Ancient Capital of Aethelia" (hereafter "Nobu") is a work based on the recently popular theme of otherworldly things and food. The owner of "Izakaya Nobu" is located on a desolate street in Kyoto, but somehow the front entrance of the restaurant is connected to the medieval European-style otherworldly city of Aethelia, the ancient capital of Japan. Nobuyuki Yazawa, the proprietor, and Shinobu Senke, a waiter, run the restaurant for the residents of this other world.

People from all walks of life, including guards, craftsmen, merchants, and aristocrats, come to "Nobu" to relieve their fatigue of the day with good sake and snacks....... The story depicts a scene similar to that of Japanese businessmen drinking at an izakaya.

Episode 4 begins with Ignatz (CV: Tomoki Ono) and Kamil (CV: Nobunaga Shimazaki), two wheat brokers from the Eisenschmidt Trading Company, heading to "Nobu". Ignatz seems to be worried about the small-mindedness of Kamil, who plans to marry his sister, but Kamil also seems to have something he wants to talk to Ignatz about. Then Ignatz says, "This restaurant food that the guards have taught me will be a test of your courage!" and tells Kamil that it will test his courage.

As an aside, last week there was no scene of drinking at all because the guests who came to the restaurant were a nobleman and Yojy...my niece, but I still would have liked to see a scene of them drinking "triaznama" comfortably in a tavern.

Perhaps this writer's feelings were understood, as Kamil enjoyed the "triaeznama" and "otoshi (chikuzen stew)" and showed a relaxed attitude, saying, "I am always ready for an ordeal like this.

However, this is where the Ignatz ordeal really begins. When Shinobu comes to ask for an order, Ignatz says, "Fish, please. ...... raw! Ignatz orders "Raw fish, please!

Apparently, it is not customary to eat raw fish in this world. "Yes, eating raw fish may test your courage, but if it's bad, you'll die! Kamil is scared.

Ignatz orders sashimi for Kamil and a "brusto" (sausage) for himself, both of them wanting to make sure that neither of them will be able to go out to buy barley and that they have the courage to try it. Then came the "hamachi sashimi. Hamachi" seems to be the name for cultured yellowtail (medium-sized yellowtail), but it is complicated because it is called "inada" when it is a natural product (it is also called differently in different regions).

From Ignatz's perspective, he didn't imagine that Kamil would really eat it, but when he sees the beautifully glistening sashimi that is brought to him, he is captivated and ends up eating it. The unexpected reaction to the delicious sashimi makes Ignatz feel guilty and decides to eat it himself, but Shinobu hears his stomach growling and recommends a hearty "Kaisendon" instead of the sashimi. Ignatz was a little hesitant to try the Kaisen-don, but like Kamil, he found the sashimi and Kaisen-don to be delicious. Ignatz said, "Kaisendon and leche is the best combination! Ignatz said, "Kaisen-don and raishe are a great combination!
I usually order rice or noodles at izakaya to finish off my drinks, but the new "Kaisen-don" at Nobu seems like a good way to enjoy a drink with a side of sashimi. Some restaurants use vinegared rice for rice, but I am wondering whether "Kaisen-don" at "Nobu" was served with regular rice or vinegared rice.

The second half of the live-action part, "Nobu + PLUS," is the second installment of "Kenichi Nagira's Search for Nobu Izakaya," in which singer-songwriter and TV personality Kenichi Nagira searches for exquisite dishes that have appeared in "Nobu." This time, while enjoying "Kaisen-don" at "Fish Cuisine Enshuya" in Tawaramachi with sake as in the anime, Nagira said in a stylish manner, "It is a good way to have half of the "Atama (ingredients of Kaisen-don)" as a snack with sake and eat it at the end.

Although I was unable to enjoy delicious tofu dishes during GW, I was able to go out to eat "Kaisen-don" instead. I would like to visit a sake shop in the Nakameguro area in search of good sake, but with the unfavorable weather and my health checkup approaching every day, I have a feeling that drinking good sake will have to wait until the next time. ......
