Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory" Episode 4: Arbalest Wreck
Arbalest was turned into a piece of wood! That's what happened in episode 4.
In the previous episode, Chidori Kaname and Sagara Sosuke's classmate, Tokiwa Kyoko, was taken hostage by an amalgam, and they set out to rescue her. The stage is set at Jindai High School, where the two students attend. With the help of Arbalest and another Mithril agent, Wraith, who escorts Chidori, Sagara succeeds in rescuing Tokiwa from the enemy Krama, but then a new type of black arm slave (AS) appears. The passenger is Leonard, who appeared in the first episode.
The development from this point on was amazing. The highlight of episode 4 is the one-on-one battle between this black AS "Belial" and Arbalest.
Belial descends from the transport plane and quickly takes Arbalest's back. In the next scene, Arbalest's arm is destroyed. The movement is not unlike that of a very large humanoid weapon. This alone clearly shows that it is overwhelming Arbalest and M9. Looking at this movement, I feel that the motion is slightly different for each AS. The storyboard for this one seems to be by Tomoki Kyoda (Eureka Seven, etc.), and the overall CG cuts for Belial's battle scenes were done by freelance artist Masaki Sasahara. Well, that was the coolest AS battle scene ever.
Thank you for watching Fullmeta IV Episode 4.

I was in charge of the overall CG cutting for the Belial battle scene.

Arbalest was wrecked helplessly before Belial. The words that Sagara conveyed as he climbed down from the cockpit were impressive. To help Sagara in such a desperate situation, Chidori went to Leonard. She asks him to save Sagara so that she can do as she pleases. This is the moment when Chidori's heroine power broke through (she is really different from the previous Chidori in every sense of the word). Sagara can do nothing but watch. I can't watch it anymore. Moreover, his classmates find out a lot of things about him, and he gets badly injured by Tokiwa, whom he rescued. In an instant, Sagara has hit rock bottom, and what is his fate?
It feels like this is finally the end of the prelude. What developments await us in the next installment? I have a feeling that the story will start moving in a big way.

Episode 4 "On My Own"
The enemy amalgam lands on Merida Island. Tessa and the other members of Mithril attempt to escape at De Danang. On the other hand, Sosuke and Kaname, who have taken Kyoko Tokiwa hostage, make a deal with Kurama to rescue Kyoko.
