In this issue, we introduce "Dalryzer," a crimson hero who protects the peace of the citizens of Shirakawa City in Fukushima Prefecture while conducting PR activities for the city, introduced by "Earth Warrior Zeros" from Osaka.

Part 3: Darulizer: Tohoku Region, Shirakawa City, Fukushima Prefecture

Darulizer has an outstandingly cool and high quality look that sets him apart from other local heroes.

The design concept of his costume is the Shirakawa dharma, a specialty of Shirakawa City, Fukushima Prefecture. The coloring is also faithful to the basic Dharma color scheme with white, black, and gold on a red base. The design is rich in originality, with no hint of inspiration from any tokusatsu hero. The most eye-catching of all is the "Dharma" motif on the mask. The visor slides upward to form a dharma eyebrow, and both eyes peek out from beneath it in fulfillment of a long-cherished wish.

What tickles the hearts of enthusiasts is that costumes for exclusive situations are available. There is the "Dalryzer Snow" rider's jacket for cold-weather use, and the "Dalryzer Riding" suit for riding a motorcycle and an open-mouth helmet. The cold-weather specifications and high-speed travel specifications are the perfect setting for those who love customization.

Below is an introduction to the city of Shirakawa, its history, and the setting in which Dalryzers are active.

Shirakawa City, Ramen, and Dharma.

Shirakawa City in Fukushima Prefecture is located in the southern part of Fukushima Prefecture with an estimated population of 60,781 (as of October 1, 2017); the city tree is the red pine, the city flower is the plum, and the city bird is the hojojiro.

The city is known for its castle town with Shirakawa Komine Castle and Minamiko Park, which is said to be "the oldest park in Japan," and is rich in nature spread out in a basin. The Shirakawa Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway is also located here, making it convenient to drive in and out of the city.

In recent years, Shirakawa Ramen has become particularly famous. Shirakawa ramen is characterized by its clear soy sauce-based soup, thick, curly noodles, chashu pork, spinach, Naruto, green onion, and seaweed, and a simple yet flavorful taste that one never gets tired of. It is attracting attention as a local ramen that soy sauce ramen fans should try at least once. Tora Shokudo, which is always featured in ramen map-type magazines, is a famous Shirakawa ramen restaurant.

The history of Shirakawa is surprisingly old. In the Heian period (794-1185), the area was called Oshu (Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, Akita, and Fukushima were designated as a state under the ritsuryo system), and the ancient Emishi forces from the Tohoku region and the Imperial Court forces from the west were just facing off against each other. The warrior clans stationed in this area were powerful, and their war skills were passed down to the Bando warriors (a generic name for the Kanto warriors).

There are also legends of battles between the Taira, Genji, and Shugo schools of warriors. During the Edo period, there was a famous barrier called "Shirakawa-no-seki," one of the three Oshu seals. Today, the Shirakawa no Seki is a tourist attraction as the Shirakawa Seki ruins.

In the mid-Edo period, Sadanobu Matsudaira, who ruled Shirakawa, invented the Shirakawa dharma in hopes for the prosperity of the castle area. The Shirakawa Dharma is characterized by the use of auspicious animals and plants, such as pine, bamboo, plum, cranes, turtles, and arabesques, as parts of the face. Dharma has become a specialty of Shirakawa, loved by the common people and handed down to the present day. Inspired by this dharma, the Darulizer was born.

Shirakawa City is the stage for the theater

Darulizer is cool. But he is not just a cool hero.

Although he has recently been made into a movie and is well known throughout Japan, with limited regional screenings at local movie theaters and appearances at various events, he is in fact a hero who carries a profound background.

Darlizer was born in 2009. Akihiro Tate (later to become Darulizer) came to Tokyo to pursue his dream of becoming a stage actor, but gave up on his dream when his wife became pregnant and returned to his hometown of Shirakawa City in Fukushima Prefecture. However, Akihiro, unable to give up his dream after returning to his hometown, devised an original hero named "Dalryzer" and applied for the local PR character advertised by Shirakawa City, seeking a way to fulfill his dream in his hometown. At the same time, a high-tech gadget called a "personal seat" was becoming popular in Shirakawa. This gadget was created by a mysterious masked group called "Dice.

Formed by the ill-fated genius developer No. 1, the Dice plan to take revenge on the society that has driven them into a corner by controlling the news and manipulating stock prices with a language control device. The Dice begin their dark activities in the town of Shirakawa, but Akihiro, who is working on a PR campaign for the heroes, happens to see them in action one night.

With his natural sense of justice, Akihiro changes into the costume of "Dalryzer" and confronts Dice, a clearly suspicious looking group. In this way, Dalryzer becomes a real hero.

This story is ongoing in the town of Shirakawa, and Dice are working in the dark every day. You may possibly witness the crimson hero, Dalryzer, who prevents this evil from happening, on the corner of the town.
