JeSU to Host eSports Tournament at Ibaraki National Athletic Meet in 2019! Events will include "Winning Eleven" and more!

The "eSports in IBARAKI" Executive Committee (tentative name) and Japan eSports Union (Chairman: Hideki Okamura, hereafter JeSU) have announced that they will hold the "Inter-Prefectural eSports Tournament" in the fall of 2019.

The event will be held in conjunction with the "Iki Iki Ibaraki Yume National Athletic Meet (74th National Athletic Meet)" and the "Iki Ibaraki Yume Meet (19th National Sports Meet for the Disabled)" and will be the first national e-sports tournament to be held in Japan between prefectures.

In accordance with the National Athletic Meet, representatives from each of the 47 prefectures will compete in this tournament, with preliminary rounds to be held in each prefecture beginning in spring 2019, and the finals to be held in Ibaraki Prefecture in the fall of 2019. Prior to this, a "pre-tournament" will be held in September 2018, inviting participants from Ibaraki Prefecture as an event one year before the Ibaraki National Athletic Meet.

The e-sports events will include the "Winning Eleven" soccer game series, which was selected as the Demonstration title for the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, but details on specific events, player recruitment, and other details will be announced as they become available.
